US President- elect Donald Trump's victory, numerous women have decided to undergo sterilization procedures while fearing potential restrictions on reproductive rights under his administration, reported Newsweek.
According to Newsweek, Lydia Echols from Texas plans to have her fallopian tubes removed while stating that she feels compelled to protect her reproductive autonomy in light of Donald Trump's policies. Other women echoed similar sentiments while expressing anxiety about losing access to abortion and birth control.

One woman from Washington, who recently had a bilateral salpingectomy eventually described feeling forced into surgery due to the political climate while stating she would have canceled it if US Vice President Kamala Harris had won. She and her husband, who are both traumatized by their childhoods, actually felt they could not risk pregnancy.
Morgan Wood from Georgia also accelerated her decision to seek sterilization after the US Presidential election while citing major distrust in healthcare and concerns about potential changes in reproductive law, asserted Newsweek.
