Kolkata Metro to run additional services along North-South corridor from January 13
Kolkata Metro has decided to run additional services along the North-South corridor from January 13 on a trial basis, an official statement said. Fourteen additional services (seven up and down each) would be run from Monday to Saturday between Noapara and Kavi Subhash along the Blue Line in peak hours in the morning (9 am to 11 am) and evening (5 pm to 8 pm) on a trial basis. It is expected that this move will benefit the metro commuters, the statement said. Consequentially, commuters will now effectively get metro services at six minutes interval between Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash during the rush hours.

Efforts on to replicate water metro in 18 locations nationwide: KMRL
Kochi Water Metro, efforts are on to replicate the eco-friendly and innovative water transport model in 18 locations nationwide, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd said. KMRL, which operates and maintains the water metro, said that the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has assigned it the task of conducting a feasibility study to assess the potential for similar water metro systems in diverse regions. «With the recent approval of its Board of Directors to form a consultancy wing, KMRL has formed an in-house committee to lead the initial work. If needed, external experts will be brought in to strengthen the process,» it said in a release on Saturday. This new initiative is a proud recognition for Kerala, KMRL innovation and expertise, it added.

SBI Cards and Payment Services climbed as much as 5.1% on Monday to Rs 760.15 on the BSE after two brokerage firms Nomura and Nuvama upgraded the stock’s rating to 'buy’, while increasing their target prices to Rs 825 and Rs 850, respectively, signaling potential upsides between 8.5% and 12% from current levels. Japanese brokerage firm Nomura highlighted that several near-term concerns, particularly around asset quality, are expected to diminish for SBI Cards and Payment Services. The brokerage said that it has observed a growing concentration of credit card debt in metro regions since FY23, with the share of the top eight metro cities in new sourcing showing an upward trend.
