If you could help us understand what is exactly driving this transformation, how do you see this impacting the overall real estate trends in the city? Prashant Thakur: First of all, if you talk about Mumbai, or let us say MMR as a whole, it accounts for 45% to almost 48% of value of real estate sold across the top seven cities in the country. So, undoubtedly, it is kind of powerhouse when it comes to residential sales. And there are several factors apart from being the financial capital of India, the huge amount of job opportunity it generates, it has also seen a huge amount of infrastructure upgrade.

Delhi Metro will now carry cargo in its trains during non-peak hours as part of a collaboration between Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and express logistics provider Blue Dart. Uttarakhand Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has approved the implementation of the Central Government's Unified Pension Scheme for officers and employees in the state. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting held on Monday, officials said. The Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) has been introduced as an option under the National Pension System (NPS) by the Central Government for the Central Government employees covered under NPS so that they may receive an assured payout after their retirement. Supreme Court on Monday said its verdict on the DMRC-DAMEPL dispute of last year needs to be followed in letter and spirit or it will be bound to take coercive measures against the concerned officials of the private firm and Axis Bank. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh told Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) and Axis Bank, «What is the need to play hide and seek? When there is judgement, you need to comply with it in letter and spirit.» Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the Axis Bank, said it was not party to the dispute for six years and now suddenly he is receiving a contempt notice for payment. The bank was only operating the escrow account in the dispute, he said.

NITI Aayog on Monday said 27 million women were monitoring their credit, marking a 42% increase from the previous year, signaling growing financial awareness, citing a report published by TransUnion CIBIL, Women Entrepreneurship Platform’s (WEP) of NITI Aayog and MicroSave Consulting (MSC). According to the statement issued by the Aayog, the report titled “From Borrowers to Builders: Women’s Role in India’s Financial Growth Story” highlights that women’s share of the total self-monitoring base increased to 19.43% in December 2024, up from 17.89% in 2023. “More women from non-metro regions are actively self-monitoring their credit compared to those in metro areas, with growth of 48% in non-metro regions and 30% in metro areas,” it said.
