Investing.com-- U.S. stock index futures rose slightly in evening deals on Thursday, extending gains after expectations of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve saw Wall Street notch two sessions of record highs.

The frenzy around artificial intelligence (AI) stocks has extended into 2024, and while Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock continues to capture most of the spotlight, the likes of Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI) and Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) have also been making headlines.

Investing.com — Micron reported Tuesday upbeat guidance for the current quarter after the chipmaker swung to a surprise profit in the fiscal second-quarter as memory price hikes boosted performance amid growing AI-driven demand.

SEOUL (Reuters) — SK Hynix Inc said on Tuesday it has begun mass production of next-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips used in artificial intelligence chipsets, with sources saying initial shipments will go to Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) this month.

made-in-India’ chip from the Micron plant is expected in December 2024. This is significant, as chip shortages during the global pandemic lockdowns heightened realisation of India’s dependency on international supply chains. While the start seems promising, the odds appear to be stacked against India, for now at least.
