Ajay Tewari Additional Chief Secretary Home & Political Department stated, “Whereas, the Government of Assam through the «State Level Recruitment Commission for Class III Posts» is going to conduct written examination for recruitment to the vacant posts of Class-Ill in different State Government establishments for the eligible candidates;Whereas, Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) on behalf of the «State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts» has announced the schedule of holding of such written examinations in different examination centres covering 28 districts of Assam on 15th September 2024.” The order stated, “Whereas a whopping 11,23,204 number of candidates are supposed to appear for the public exam in 2305 examination centres spread across the state of Assam on that day, out of which 429 centre are identified as ‘sensitive’ centres due to their geographical location and past history of cheating and other malpractices, Whereas, the Government of Assam desires that the written examination should be held in a free, fair and transparent manner to select the best candidates purely on merit and no malpractices should be allowed during the examination, Whereas, it has been observed on earlier such occasions that some unscrupulous elements resorted to unfair means using different Mobile Applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, X(Twitter), Telegram and Youtube etc.

As it strives to become an electronics hub, the state will now get a semiconductor plant too. The joint venture between Taiwan’s Foxconn and IT services major HCL Group has been allotted around thirty acres of land, near the upcoming Jewar airport in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, to set up a semiconductor outsourced assembly and testing (OSAT) unit, said Et has reported based on information from sources. Uttar Pradesh has received proposals for projects totalling around Rs 40,038 crore under its new policy to incentivise semiconductor manufacturing and attract global investments in the state, the government said in a statement in July. Among several proposals, it has so far considered Hiranandani group’s Tarq Semiconductor plant. In fact, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the only north Indian state actively vying for high-tech industrial projects which has traditionally been the mainstay of south Indian states. Uttar Pradesh has followed states Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to have a dedicated semiconductor policy.

The firm is in talks with creditors, including Pimco and Blackstone, to reorganise its capital structure after cost overruns caused by rating agency downgrades, the newspaper reported. PwC sold its global mobility business to U.S. private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice in 2022 in a $2.2 billion deal to raise capital to invest in faster-growing areas of its consulting business, the report said. The firm was renamed to Vialto after the buyout, it added.

Tata Motors on Thursday hailed the PM e-drive scheme, saying it would help in higher adoption of electric vehicles in the country. On September 11, the Union Cabinet approved two major schemes with a total outlay of Rs 14,335 crore to promote the use of electric vehicles, including buses, ambulances and trucks. The two schemes are the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme with an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore over a period of two years, and the PM-eBus Sewa-Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) scheme with a budget of Rs 3,435 crore. «With continued focused support on 2Ws, 3Ws, e-buses and the thoughtful addition of e-ambulances, the scheme will drive higher EV penetration in the country,» Mahindra & Mahindra Managing Director Anish Shah said in a statement.
