₹25,900 crore. According to a research by Mint based on regulatory filings of 300 companies, in April-June, LIC sold shares in at least 87 leading Indian companies worth ₹25,900 crore—the highest ever for LIC in the first quarter of a financial year.

US Fed. The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex declined 440 points or 0.66% to settle at 66,267. The broader NSE Nifty dropped 0.60% to end below the 19,700 level.

Nestle India is set to report its earnings for the April-June quarter of 2023 on Thursday. The FMCG major is expected to show decent earnings growth with improvement in margins during the quarter. The demand momentum for consumer companies improved in the April-June quarter with the urban market leading the charge and rural showing signs of recovery too.

Nestle India is likely to report double-digit rise in both sales and profit for the quarter ended June, aided by healthy volume growth and profitability. The net profit for the quarter is seen rising nearly 36% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 698 crore, according to the average of estimates given by 10 brokerages. Revenue from operations is likely to grow 16% on year to Rs 4,690 crore.

Paper is the environmentally superior alternative to plastic. Except, what if it’s not?
