Umang Dairies(down 3.70%), Hindustan Unilever(down 3.67%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.38%), Dabur India(down 2.30%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 2.29%), Jyothy Labs(down 2.21%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.63%), Varun Beverages(down 1.53%), Zydus Wellness(down 1.42%) and Nakoda Group(down 1.22%) were among the top losers of the day.

Shares of MPhasis(up 5.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Infosys(down 8.13 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 5.83 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 4.62 per cent), Coforge(down 3.72 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 3.49 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty index closed 234.15 points down at 19745.0, while BSE Sensex ended down 887.64 points at 66684.26.

Shares of Natco Pharma(up 2.07 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.69 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.2 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.9 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Abbott India(down 2.03 per cent), Lupin(down 0.99 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.96 per cent), Biocon(down 0.86 per cent) and Cipla(down 0.72 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 234.15 points down at 19745.0 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters. However, stocks such as KKV Agro Powers Ltd., Cell Point(India), Spectrum Talent Mana, Quality Foils(India and Bombay Metrics Suppl, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

share price of RIL ex-JFSL was valued at ₹2,580 per share while Jio Financial Services at ₹261.85 per share.  In line with RIL's exchange filing on the subject of the cost of equity shares post the demerger, the cost must be apportioned as 95.32% towards Reliance Industries Limited and the residual as cost to acquire holdings in RSIL.  “For instance, if RIL shares were acquired on some day before the demerger at an effective rate of ₹2,800, ₹2,669 (95.32% of ₹2,800) must be considered as the cost of acquiring shares of RIL.
