Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.18%
Shares of Natco Pharma(up 2.07 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.69 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.2 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.9 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Abbott India(down 2.03 per cent), Lupin(down 0.99 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.96 per cent), Biocon(down 0.86 per cent) and Cipla(down 0.72 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.18 per cent down at 14274.0. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 234.15 points at 19745.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 887.64 points at 66684.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 ended in the green, while 38 closed in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Reliance Power and Rail Vikas Nigam were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
