Aurobindo Pharma(up 4.45 per cent), Lupin(up 3.95 per cent), Laurus(up 3.46 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 2.94 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(up 2.85 per cent) were among the top gainers. Pfizer(down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.96 per cent at 15236.5 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 46.8 points at 19479.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 186.07 points at 65596.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red. Shares of Vedanta, Indian Railway Fin, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
