Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.54% in a weak market
Tech Mahindra(up 0.57 per cent) and Coforge(up 0.28 per cent) were among the top gainers. MPhasis(down 1.43 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 1.32 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 1.01 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.88 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.6 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.54 per cent at 30658.45 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 58.05 points at 19512.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 248.04 points at 65598.46.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Fin, Bank of Maharashtra, Reliance Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
