Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.51% in an upbeat market
Cipla(up 3.98 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.95 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.71 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.34 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers. Abbott India(down 2.35 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.73 per cent), Lupin(down 0.48 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.46 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.51 per cent at 15176.95 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 88.35 points at 19470.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 294.23 points at 65534.91.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red. Shares of Zomato, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power and Ibull Housing Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
