ICICI Bank share price climbed over a per cent to hit its fresh 52-week high of ₹1,008 in morning trade on BSE on Monday (July 24) as most brokerage firms retained their positive views on the stock after its June quarter (Q1FY24) results. On Saturday, ICICI Bank reported a 39.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in its standalone net profit for Q1FY24 at ₹9,648 crore compared to ₹6,905 crore in the corresponding period last year. Its net interest income (NII) -or the difference between interest earned and interest paid, increased 38 per cent year-on-year to ₹18,227 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal from ₹13,210 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a net profit of ₹3,452 crore in Q1FY24, up 67% from ₹2,071 crore in Q1FY23.  On a consolidated basis, the bank’s net profit rose 50.62% YoY to ₹4,150.19 crore  Net Interest Income (NII) during the April-June quarter increased to ₹6,234 crore  from ₹4,697 crore in Q1FY23, up 33% YoY. Reliance Industries (RIL) have disappointed the Street as RIL's share price dipped over 2 per cent in early deals on Monday (July 24). On Friday, RIL reported its Q1FY24 scorecard which showed its consolidated revenue and profit declined during the quarter because of the weak show of O2C (oil-to-chemical) business. Reliance Industries reported a net profit of ₹16,011 crore, down 10.8 per cent, compared to ₹17,955 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Reliance Industries: Reliance Industries Ltd said quarterly profit declined 5.9% from a year earlier. Net profit fell to ₹18,258 crore in the three months ended 30 June from ₹19,405 crore in the year-ago quarter. Profit missed the average ₹18,302 crore estimated by a Bloomberg survey of analysts.

The 1975, a British pop-rock band, has canceled upcoming shows in Indonesia and Taiwan after their set was cut short at a music festival in Malaysia. The decision came following frontman Matty Healy's comments on Malaysia's anti-gay laws and an on-stage kiss with a bandmate. The band had eagerly looked forward to performing for fans at Jakarta’s We the Fest on Sunday (July 23) and at the Taipei Music Center on Tuesday (July 25) as part of their Asia tour 2023. However, due to the current circumstances, they had no choice but to call off the scheduled performances. In a statement posted on We the Fest’s Twitter page, The 1975 wrote, “The 1975 regret to announce that their forthcoming shows in Jakarta and Taipei will no longer be going ahead as planned. The band never takes the decision to cancel a show lightly and had been eagerly looking forward to playing for fans in Jakarta and Taipei but unfortunately, due to current circumstances, it is impossible to proceed with the scheduled shows.” The controversy arose when Matty Healy openly criticized Malaysia's LGBTQ laws during the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur on July 21. He also engaged in a kiss with bassist Ross MacDonald on stage. The festival's organizer, Future Sounds Asia, responded by canceling the remaining days of the festival.

Cody Johnson expresses solidarity with Jason Aldean at a St. Louis concert following the recent removal of Aldean's song and video from CMT rotation. During his Friday night performance, Johnson took a stand in support of fellow country artist Aldean amidst the controversy over the song, «Try That in a Small Town». Graham Allen, host of the Dear America podcast, captured and posted a video of Cody Johnson voicing his support for Aldean during the show at St. Louis' Chaifetz Arena. Apollo Hospitals plans to have a transplant programme in all its locations along with collaborations with hospitals outside its network, as it sees rising demand from within India and overseas. In an interview to ET, Preetha Reddy, executive vice-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals said, every location Apollo is present will do kidney and liver transplant, but heart and lungs transplants will be done at its large hospitals in metro cities due to infrastructure and talent acquisition issues.
