Sahitya Akademi announces Yuva Puraskar, Bal Sahitya Puraskar winners for 2024
Sahitya Akademi on Saturday announced the names of 23 writers, including English writer K Vaishali and Hindi author Gaurav Pandey, who will receive the prestigious Yuva Puraskar across as many languages. The National Academy of Letters also announced the names of 24 winners of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar for 2024. The winner of the Yuva Puraskar in Sanskrit will be announced at a later date, the Akademi said in a statement. «The Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi in its meeting held today under the Chairmanship of its President Sri Madhav Kaushik approved selection of 23 writers who were selected on the basis of recommendations made by the Jury comprising three members each in the concerned language in accordance with the rules and procedure laid down for the purpose,» the literary body said in a statement.

Maharashtra housing authority finds 60 out of 62 hoardings in Mumbai lack approval
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) on its premises in Mumbai revealed that 60 out of 62 hoardings were installed without the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from MHADA. Following a tragic incident on May 13, where seventeen people died and 74 were injured due to a hoarding collapse amid strong winds and heavy rains in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, MHADA and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have taken action. In a statement, dated June 14, the MHADA said they and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have removed one of the unauthorised hoardings at the Shubh Jeevan Cooperative Housing Society in Juhu Vile Parle.

Automobile retailers' apex body FADA on Friday voiced its concern on the high inventory level and said it is planning to take up the matter with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). At the third edition of the Finance and Insurance Summit 2024 here, Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA) President Manish Singhania also demanded continuity in the FAME-3 policy and in infra push. Singhania said in 2018-19 was a very bad year for the automobile dealers in the country when 280-odd dealerships had gone out of business, and FADA does not want that to happen again. «We are cautious about the inventory levels because anything above 30 days starts hitting the dealerships.
