Special counsel report on Biden memory is wrong, White House says
White House on Friday blasted a report from a Department of Justice special counsel that suggested President Joe Biden was suffering memory lapses, and Vice President Kamala Harris called the report «clearly politically motivated.» The report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, a former U.S. attorney in Maryland during Republican Donald Trump's administration, has prompted an election-year brawl and renewed questions about Biden's advanced age. This week Biden, 81, mixed up the names of several world leaders.

White House attacks 'politically motivated' Biden probe age comments
‘My memory is fine’: Biden hits back after report cites age concerns The White House directly targeted special counsel Robert Hur, a Republican who was appointed by then-president Trump to be US attorney for the District of Maryland in 2017. But it was Biden's own attorney general Merrick Garland who named Hur as special counsel in the documents case. Hur and his team identified several reasons why they weren’t recommending charges against Biden and what his defenses during a potential trial might be, including that he has a frail memory.

How can I Refuse: Jayant Chaudhary on joining BJP-led NDA for Lok Sabha polls
Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award to former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, was the moment RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary was waiting for. Chaudhary, who was not visible for the past one week amid speculations of his party joining NDA, surfaced on Friday and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the honour given to his grandfather. «This is a big day. It is an emotional and memorable moment for me. I thank the President, the Government of India and especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This has sent a big message to the entire country. The sentiments of the country are related to this decision of the government,» Chaudhary told media persons in Delhi. «Modiji has proved that he understands the basic sentiments of the country.» On a question of whether he is ready to join hands with BJP, Chaudhary simply said: «Is there anything left to be done? How can I refuse.» With this, the process of RLD joining the NDA in UP is complete. Sources told ET that a seat-sharing agreement has been reached between the two parties. As part of the deal, RLD will get two Lok Sabha seats — Baghpat and Bijnor — and one Rajya Sabha nomination. It will also get one cabinet position in UP and one MLC seat. Sources told ET that RLD will name senior party leader Sompal Shashtri for the RS seat given by the BJP.

Boeing strikes conciliatory tone with suppliers amid 737 MAX crisis
Boeing executives extended an olive branch to the company's strained supply chain this week to help them deal with the fallout of the latest 737 MAX crisis, but those firms are taking a wait-and-see attitude after years of dealing with the planemaker's hard-line approach. The aerospace giant's shift in tone was underlined by a speech on Wednesday by Ihssane Mounir, Boeing's vice president of supply chain and fabrication, at an aerospace conference outside Seattle. «We build the airplane together. There's no you and us. It's just us,» he said.
