NSCN-IM (National Socialist Council of Nagalim — Isak-Muivah) has expressed apprehensions regarding the potential resurgence of severe human rights violations in Nagalim if the ongoing talks fail to yield positive outcomes. Emphasising the urgency of concluding the prolonged Indo-Naga political dialogue in an honorable manner, NSCN-IM referenced the signed Framework Agreement. In this agreement, the Government of India officially acknowledged the distinctiveness of Naga history and recognised the independent nature of the Naga people. The agreement also outlined the coexistence of the Nagas and Indians, sharing sovereign power. NSCN-IM said that inspite of all the commitments and agreements, the Government of India is trying to backtrack and disown the Framework Agreement by creating situations through the agencies of its surrogate Naga factions, opportunists and the neighbouring peoples who are hostile to the cause of the Nagas. The proposed move could affect some 2,500 jobs in the next 18 months. But trade unions have opposed the move, and some 1,500 workers have reportedly voted in favour of an industrial action.

MET Progressive Assurant Remark Election Allegiant Nitish Kumar explains his switches, but are voters in Bihar believing it?
Bihar Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Less than a year ago, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was seen as a formidable figure within the opposition, positioned as the strongest challenger to PM Narendra Modi. However, Kumar's current political landscape is marked by a flurry of strategic moves, as he works to reaffirm his loyalty to the saffron alliance, comprising the PM and the BJP. During a recent event alongside Modi in Aurangabad, Kumar aimed to dispel any doubts about his allegiance, stating, «While I may have momentarily strayed from the path, I want to assure you that I have returned to the NDA fold for good.» His remarks, met with subtle smirks from Modi and Bihar governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, highlight the intricate dynamics of political alliances in the state. As Bihar witnesses the fervour of election season, Kumar assumes a prominent role in numerous rallies, often sharing stages with BJP's key campaigners. However, amidst his speeches, Kumar's assurances of unwavering commitment to the NDA ring hollow to many. Aware of his history of political manoeuvring, the public responds with scepticism, mindful of past promises that were quickly forgotten.

Progressive Extreme awards Injustice Justice classical Courts Delhi HC asks NBCC to return Rs 76L with interest to homebuyer, awards Rs 5L compensation
Delhi High Court has asked NBCC to refund over 76 lakh along with interest to a homebuyer after it failed to deliver possession of his flat, bought it 2012, and also awarded compensation of Rs 5 lakh for causing «extreme mental agony». Justice Subramonium Prasad, while allowing the homebuyer's petition against NBCC, observed that purchasing a house is one of the most significant investments an individual or a family makes in their lifetime, and it often involves years of savings, meticulous planning and emotional investment, and therefore compensating wronged homebuyers is not just a matter of rectifying past injustices but also about deterring future misconduct. The petitioner, a retired government employee, said he purchased the flat in 'NBCC Green View Apartments', a project launched in 2012 for Gurugram, but in spite of paying the entire sale price of over Rs 76 lakh in 2017, the unit was never handed over to him. In the order passed on May 8, the court observed that the petitioner has been deprived of his money for the last 10 years and «structurally defective houses» have been constructed, leaving him in a complete lurch, and NBCC should be «dealt with severely» for reluctance to pay interest on the amount and ensuring the petitioner's rehabilitation.
