UPS Provident FIVE Supreme Court "amazed" at order passed by Allahabad HC, terms it self-contradictory
Supreme Court has said it is «amazed» to see an order of the Allahabad High Court which dismissed a plea by five accused seeking anticipatory bail in a criminal case but granted them protection against coercive steps for two months, terming it «self-contradictory». The high court had in May last year rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by five accused in a case registered in Saharanpur district under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, the minister said, India has enacted Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage (CLND) Act 2010 to provide for civil liability for nuclear damage and prompt compensation to the victims of a nuclear incident through a no-fault liability regime channelling liability to the operator.

communications (UCC) continue to grow as telecom operators received 904, 359 complaints in calendar year 2022 compared to 855, 771 complaints in 2021 and 307, 043 complaints in 2020 (April-December period), according to data shared by minister of state for communications Devusinh Chauhan in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Last year, telcos disconnected 32, 032 numbers that were found in repeated violation of regulations regarding telemarketing, while more than 300, 000 connections were imposed with usage caps of 20 outgoing calls and messages a day and 409, 739 connections were issued warnings for violation regulations, he added.
