Rapper G Herbo pleads guilty in credit card fraud, faces upto 25 years in prison
rapper G Herbo pleaded guilty Friday to his role in a scheme that used stolen credit card information to pay for a lavish lifestyle including private jets, exotic car rentals, a luxury vacation rental and even expensive designer puppies. Under a deal with prosecutors, the 27-year-old Chicago rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, entered a guilty plea in federal court in Springfield, Massachusetts, to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making false statements. In exchange, prosecutors dismissed several counts of aggravated identity theft. He also agreed to forfeit nearly $140,000, the amount he benefited from what prosecutors have said was a $1.5 million scheme that involved several other people. «Mr. Wright used stolen account information as his very own unlimited funding source, using victims' payment cards to finance an extravagant lifestyle and advance his career,» acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy said in a statement. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 7, and he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison. A voicemail seeking comment was left with his attorney.

Sony India aims 40% growth in audio business in FY24
Sony India is aiming 40 per cent growth in its audio business in the current fiscal, led by rising demand for premium products in the segment, its Managing Director Sunil Nayyar said on Thursday. The company is expecting a «promising» growth in some of the segments as soundbars and personal audio products like earphones and headphones continue its lead, outpacing the market growth rate. Sony India, which aims to be the dominant premium audio brand here, gets around 20 per cent of its sales revenue from the audio business and expects its contribution to become higher in the coming years. «Audio business is very promising in India and the premium market (in the segment) is growing and the growth rate is high. This composition will continue to increase every year,» Nayyar told PTI. He further said:" The growth of the audio might outpace the growth of other categories." Snoop Dogg cancels Hollywood Bowl shows. Here’s why
Snoop Dogg, the renowned West Coast rap legend, has canceled his scheduled Hollywood Bowl shows, which were meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his landmark debut album "Doggystyle." Taking to Instagram on July 25, the Grammy-nominated rapper and actor said, “We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show. We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work.” Both organizations, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), have taken a firm stand, demanding better conditions and fair treatment for writers and actors in the entertainment industry. The strikes come in response to unsuccessful negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Snoop Dogg had initially postponed the Hollywood Bowl shows from June 27-28 to October 20-21, hoping for a resolution to the labor disputes. However, with the strikes ongoing and no definite end in sight, he has made the difficult decision to cancel the anniversary shows.
