A man in his complaint to the Chief Minister's Office said defamatory words were used against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders in an audio clip which was played in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plying between Shimla and Sanjauli on November 5. In a letter to the conductor and driver of the bus on November 25, the HRTC sought explanation from them. The letter went viral on the internet.

Jairam Ramesh on Saturday criticised the Central government for delaying auctions of lithium reserves in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that companies were reluctant to bid due to insufficient exploration data. In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh noted that on February 13, 2023, the Modi government announced--amid much fanfare--the discovery of what it claimed to be one of the world's largest lithium reserves in J&K. «In November 2023, the first auctions were held, but the minimum requirement of three bids was not met, leading to the cancellation of the auction. A second round of auctions was announced in March 2024, but by July 2024, it was revealed that not a single bid had been received,» he said.

Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday asked the elected government in Jammu and Kashmir to take measures to stop the «injustice» of dismissing employees over alleged terror links and reinstate all those who have been terminated so far. His remark came a day after two government employees were dismissed from service by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for alleged terror links. «Two more government employees terminated by the stroke of a pen without any legal recourse! Families rendered destitute before the onset of harsh winters. Punishment and fear is the hallmark of an authoritarian mindset that has been ruling us here,» Farooq said in a post on X. He also called upon the elected government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Union territory to reinstate all the employees who have been terminated «in an unjust manner».
