Chapter 25 of the 'Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha' has enabling provisions to hold secret sittings at the request of the Leader of the House. According to Rule 248, subclause one, on a request made by the Leader of the House, the speaker will fix a day or a part of it for sitting of the House in secret. Subclause 2 says that when the House sits in secret no stranger will be permitted to be present in the chamber, lobby or the galleries. But there are some who will be allowed during such sittings. Another rule in the chapter says the speaker may direct that a report of the proceedings of a secret sitting be issued in such manner as the chair thinks fit.

Delhi Legislative Assembly will commence on Monday, at 11:00 AM, and the first budget of the newly elected Delhi government will be presented a day later. Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said that the session will commence tomorrow in the Assembly Hall, Old Secretariat in the national capital. «Tomorrow is the first day of the Budget Session. The budget will be presented on March 25. The CAG report will also be tabled during the budget session,» Vijender Gupta told media here on Sunday. The Budget Session is a crucial period in the legislative calendar, during which key financial and policy matters will be discussed and decided upon. The session is tentatively scheduled to run from March 24 to March 28, 2025, with provisions for extension if required. Notably, in the Budget session, the CAG report on the functioning of DTC will be tabled in the House, the Delhi Assembly Secretariat said in a statement. This would be third CAG report which will be tabled on Monday in the House

Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday said that progress has been made in the process of restoring peace in Manipur and there was a need to move further ahead. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here to mark the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the Manipur High Court. «We have progressed in the process of restoring peace and will need to move further ahead. After President's rule was imposed in Manipur, the matter was discussed in both Houses of Parliament and the need to restore peace was stressed. The Union government is committed to bringing back peace in the state very soon,» he said. Addressing the function, the Union minister said, «I pray for rapidness in the ongoing peace process in Manipur so that the state can progress and contribute to Viksit Bharat.» Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Supreme Court judges were also present at the event. Responding to journalists' query on the Justice Varma cash recovery row, the Union law minister said, «The Supreme Court is probing the matter… let the report of the committee come… we will talk after that.»

IndusInd Bank has appointed Grant Thornton to conduct a forensic review into accounting lapses detected this month and to check if there is any evidence of fraud or internal misstatements, said two people with direct knowledge of the matter. IndusInd is India's fifth-largest private lender with a balance sheet of $63 billion. Its shares have lost about 23.4% since it disclosed on March 10 that its derivatives portfolio was overvalued by around 2.35%, or $175 million, after non-compliant internal trades. The accounting discrepancy contravened Reserve Bank of India rules, though the central bank has said IndusInd is well-capitalised.

National Testing Agency is expected to release Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Session 2 admit card 2025 on March 29. The link will be released on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The admit card will contain candidate's personal details, exam centre address, exam timings, among other details. Applicants must carry the admit card and valid photo id on the JEE Main exam day. The second session of JEE Main 2025 will be held between April 1 and April 8. Application and correction windows for the test are over and next, the agency will release exam city intimation slips and admit cards.

Donald Trump has denied signing the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan migrants. “I don’t know when it was signed, because I didn’t sign it,” Trump told reporters. Trump, however, defended his administration saying, “We want to get criminals out of our country, number one, and I don’t know when it was signed, because I didn’t sign it...Other people handled it, but (Secretary of State) Marco Rubio has done a great job and he wanted them out and we go along with that. We want to get criminals out of our country.” His comments came after Judge James Boasberg claimed that the proclamation was “signed in the dark” of night and that migrants were hurried onto planes, CNN reported. The judge had issued a two-week temporary block on Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport 238 alleged members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang. The judge said in court that any flights already en route should return to the US. His written order following the hearing appeared in the court's online docket, the justice department said in a court filing.
