Cong slams Pak minister for statement on Art 370, raps BJP for raking it up
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari Thursday warned Pakistan against interfering in India's internal matters, slamming the country's defence minister for his statement that the Shehbaz Sharif government and the Congress-National Conference alliance were on the same page on the restoration of Article 370.He said that instead of giving such statements, Khawaja Asif should focus on protecting their citizens from «starvation and poverty». The Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha also criticised the BJP for talking about Asif's statement in the election campaign, «It appears that the BJP and Pakistan's establishment are reciprocating each other's interests,» he told reporters here. «We warn Pakistan against interfering in India's internal matters. Instead of giving such statements, ministers of Pakistan should focus on protecting their citizens from starvation and poverty,» Tiwari said.

Price hikes to continue, Ceat pushing for growth to accelerate in second half: Arnab Banerjee
Arnab Banerjee, MD & CEO, Ceat, says price hikes will continue because the pass-through to the tyres per se is inadequate if cumulative price hikes from April to August are taken. Ceat has been able to pass on maybe 4%, in barely a couple of categories, but in a large number of categories, they have been able to pass on even less. The ability to pass on to OEMs is also restricted. Banerjee says price hikes will continue in September. Just wanted to begin by discussing the raw material setup. I know this is something that we have talked about earlier as well. But at the end of Q1, you were talking about how the raw material prices could increase by 5% to 6% in Q2. Now, on one hand, while the rubber prices have gone up, crude prices have come off, would you still stick with the view that the total raw material cost will be up 5% to 6% or do you think an offset is likely to happen? Arnab Banerjee: In the first quarter (Q1) raw material prices were about 5% higher than Q4 and Q2 raw material prices will indeed be higher by 4% to 5% than Q1.

2 top stock recommendations from Rahul Sharma
«So, in terms of percentage, the support is closer for Indus Tower and the stock may see some bit of cooling off, consolidation happen around the 360 mark. But speaking of Vodafone Idea, clearly below the 12 level, we expect more weakness to continue in the same,» says Rahul Sharma, JM Financial Services. What is your take coming in on both of these counters, Vodafone Idea and Indus Towers? While when you talk about the news flow, you thought things were getting better for Vodafone Idea. There was some scope of revival but that is definitely not how it is playing right now given the fact the Supreme Court order is negative and will have a negative impact. Rahul Sharma: Yes, so speaking technically the stock has broken its crucial support area of 12.5, 12 and it has been like a nosedive for the stock of sorts in today's session. Now what that opens up is a room for more downside and the next psychological level that we can see is at around 10. But technically speaking the crucial support is coming in around Rs 9, so that is another 20% down move that can happen especially the way the sell-off has been there today. Now speaking of Indus Tower which has been relatively doing well, this has also sort of broken down from its short-term moving averages and the meaningful support for this one is placed around the 355-360 mark.

South Africa to introduce points-based system for work permits and nomad visas in 30 days
South Africa is set to implement a points-based system for issuing work visas and permits to individuals wishing to live in the country while working remotely for foreign companies. Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber announced that the new regulations for both visa categories are now finalized, and the rollout is expected within the next 30 days. The new system will allow individuals employed and paid in another country to reside in South Africa while spending their foreign earnings locally. Schreiber highlighted the benefits, stating, «A person who is employed and paid in another country will now be able to move to sunny South Africa to spend all of their dollars, yen, euros, pounds or renminbi right here.» He clarified that these remote workers are only required to register with the tax agency if they reside in South Africa for more than six months in a year. Schreiber, a member of the Democratic Alliance, emphasized the attractiveness of the remote-working visa, saying, «Our new remote-working visa must be one of the best deals I’ve ever come across. South Africa carries none of the cost of employing these nomads, yet we reap all of the benefits.»
