markets Man Progressive Justice show Courts rights Discussion of women's progress superficial without safe public spaces: Delhi HC
Delhi High Court has said unless an environment free from harassment and fear was created, all discussions on women's progress were superficial. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said real empowerment began with women's right to live and move freely without fear. The court made the observations in a judgement passed on February 28 while refusing to interfere with the conviction of a man for sexually harassing his female co-passenger on a public bus in 2015. In 2019, the trial court convicted the accused and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for one year for offence punishable under Section 354 (Assault of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and six months under Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of the woman) IPC. The decision was also upheld by the sessions court in appeal.

markets UPS security wellness Trade rights peace Trump’s trade tensions shift focus to Europe, reshaping global geopolitics: Alastair Newton
Alastair Newton, CEO, Alavan Business Advisory Ltd, we can park Asia largely because Donald Trump has not really turned his attention to Asia, other than he had quite a warm meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister and as I mentioned a moment ago, had a very warm meeting with Narendra Modi. But for the moment, Donald Trump's attention seems to be largely, largely on Western Hemisphere, Panama, Mexico, Canada. He had that spat with Columbia right at the beginning of his current term of office, and in particular on Europe. ET Now: What really happens now, what do you anticipate will be the next set of steps because Donald Trump has stated that this was something that we had a very fruitful meeting in the White House. Much was learned that could have never been understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. Do you think that there will be a resumption of peace talks anytime soon between Ukraine and the United States?

Reddit Instagram Photos Celebrity social paparazzi rights Alia deletes all photos of daughter Raha from her Instagram. Netizens say this would 'keep creeps away'
Alia Bhatt just remove all pictures of her daughter Raha from Instagram? Fans were disappointed when they failed to find any pictures of the adorable little munchkin on Instagram. This development was noticed by eagle-eyed fans on social media such as X and Reddit. Some fans on the popular subreddit BollyBlindsGossip speculated that Alia and Ranbir may have requested photographers to refrain from capturing images of Raha altogether—similar to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s recent decision regarding her sons, Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan. While the reason behind this choice remains unclear, many netizens have expressed their support for the couple’s decision. Several users on social media applauded the move, emphasizing the importance of protecting a child’s privacy. One user shared, “I’m not usually an Alia fan and often critique her, but I completely back this decision. The internet is full of creepy individuals, and as a parent, she has every right to take protective measures.” Another commenter added, “This is the right choice. I hope the paparazzi respect their wishes and stop following them around. Let’s give the child and her parents the space they deserve.”

markets COST UPS Analysis Trade rights Market volatility expected to persist until US tariff uncertainty settles: Devender Singhal
«For midcap or smallcap, that could be a different story. But in the largecap space, the valuations have become very attractive. A couple of percentage points more of correction cannot be ruled out,» says Devender Singhal, Kotak Mahindra AMC. First up on the markets, nothing has been holding up. Since all this while we have been talking about the broader indices, getting into that bear territory, but look at Nifty 50 is down about 15% from those highest points of September 2024. Do you believe that another 5% correction from here on cannot be ruled out or you believe that at the index level we should find some bit of a base building? Devender Singhal: So, yes, you are right, we have seen around 15% correction in the Nifty. But there has not been a single year in the last 30 years where we have not seen something like this happening. But honestly, it looks like in terms of valuation comfort, we are very near to the bottom or the immediate bottom in terms of where the Nifty or largecaps are concerned.

«As far as supports are concerned for Nifty, I believe there is a support around 22,200 followed by 22,000 which is the support zone for Nifty,» says Sneha Seth, Angel One. It is just a deep sea of red across the screen and both the benchmark indices are not holding up well. Which are the next support levels as per you? Sneha Seth: If you look at the market, yes, we have seen decent correction. If you see the rollovers for last series, the rollovers were quite decent. In fact, I believe decent amount of shorts have been rolled over to the market. FIIs long-short ratio is also around 16, which clearly indicates that it is in the oversold territory and until we do not see any buying interest from FIIs in the future segment or in equity segment, the market may continue to be in pressure only.
