When a desi gets lost in McBritain's
Britain, our destination. Similar gaffes have occurred in the past. In the 15th century, Christopher Columbus landed in what he thought was India, but it was America. This case of mistaken identity caused the Italian navigator to call the local inhabitants 'Indios', Indians, an appellation that would be used for centuries to refer to indigenous Americans. What I was wondering on the long ride from the airport to the city was where the dickens I'd landed. Because London seemed transformed by some wave of a Hogwarts wand into an ersatz America.

India vs Canada Weather forecast: Will rain play spoilsport in today's match?
Lauderhill amidst a flash flood warning in the region as a confident India aim to make it four wins in a row when they face Canada in their last Group ‘A’ match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Saturday. Having secured three consecutive wins, India has already qualified for the Super Eight stage, which will take place entirely in the West Indies, and is poised to top the Group A points table even if their match against Canada is rained out. However, if the weather clears up, India will aim to address any weaknesses before advancing to the Super Eights. Talismanic batter Virat Kohli came into the tournament on the back of being the leading run-getter in IPL 2024, where he amassed 741 runs in 15 matches while opening the batting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But in the Men’s T20 World Cup, Kohli has amassed scores of 1, 4 and 0, with his pattern of being out to wide deliveries a cause of concern.
