On the BSE, SBL Infratech(down 14.28 per cent), Innovative Ideals(down 12.62 per cent), Inducto Steel(down 9.99 per cent), Bridge Sec(down 8.96 per cent) and BCPL Railway Infra(down 8.59 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade. In the Nifty pack, 18 stocks closed in the green, while 32 stocks ended in the red.

Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International(up 2.04 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.42 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(up 0.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Bosch(down 1.97 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.91 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.63 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.05 per cent) and MRF(down 0.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

Nifty Midcap 150 outperformed all major indices clocking gains of 6.36 per cent and 6.16 per cent, respectively in June. According to a report by domestic brokerage firm Motilal Oswal titled ‘Global Market Snapshot’, Nifty Smallcap 250 and Nifty 150 have risen 19.99 per cent and 18.05 per cent respectively in the first quarter of current fiscal 2023-24. In addition, both indices have outperformed the other indices when compared on a three-month, six-month, and on an annual basis.

Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) merged with its subsidiary HDFC Bank on July 1, 2023, following which shares of HDFC ceased to exist on bourses from Thursday, July 13. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported a higher-than-estimated June quarter profit on Wednesday, shares of IT major rose over 1%, making it one of the best Sensex performers in Thursday's early trade. While foreign brokerage Nomura maintained a ‘Reduce’ rating on the stock, Motilal Oswal and Nuvama retained their ‘Buy’ stance on the counter. The technology major reported a nearly 17% year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated net profit for the June quarter to Rs 11,074 crore.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced a change in expiry days for Nifty Bank options and Nifty Midcap Select Index futures and options.
