Inspiring! This IIT Kanpur graduate left a high-paying job to become a fitness trainer
career change, Priyanka Gupta has shattered all such stereotypes. Gupta, who is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute Of Technology Kanpur shocked the world, by making a bold career move — she left her job at a big MNC to pursue her dream of being a fitness coach. Her LinkedIn post went viral. In the post she talked about the difficult decision she took and how, despite tasting failure on her first startup, she decided to persevere. «I left a big MNC and my IIT pedigree attachment. Now, I help professionals stay fit and live longer. Like many of my fellow IIT buddies, right after graduation, I started chasing that golden ticket to financial stability. I was responsible for supporting my family and this was the most apparent path. After 5 years, when I took my first break from work, I got bugged by entrepreneurship. Don't know how. I wanted to start a home-cooked food delivery business. It didn't start. I could not get enough courage. And got dragged into 9-to-5 again,» she wrote.

Serial rape case in Madhya Pradesh: Man uses voice-changing app to lure victims; Shocking details emerge
Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh, a 30-year-old man named Brajesh Prajapati has been accused of raping at least seven tribal girls. He used a voice-changing app to pose as a female teacher and trick the girls into meeting him. Following orders from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed on Saturday to investigate the crime and submit a report within seven days. Prajapati targeted girls eligible for SC/ST scholarships. Using the app, he masked his voice and pretended to be "Archana Madam," asking the victims to meet 'her' to resolve issues with their scholarship applications. After assaulting them, he stole their cell phones to prevent them from seeking help. As per a TOI report, the police so far have recovered 16 phones, but have only received complaints from four survivors.

How Rishi Sunak's small circle forged vote plan that shocked cabinet
Rishi Sunak gave his most senior ministers little more than an hour's notice of what he was about to tell the country and had already told King Charles III, that he had decided to call a snap UK general election for July 4. Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt was among those caught unaware. Foreign Secretary David Cameron, who'd had to cancel a visit to Albania just to make the meeting in Downing Street, expressed surprise, but said the decision «seizes the initiative, sets the agenda and forces the choice,» according to people familiar with the conversation.

BoE's Swati Dhingra: Evidence-based policymaking must become a 'priority'
In a speech at the ECONDAT conference on 10 May, published by the BoE on Thursday (23 May), she said the inflationary episode of the last few years has prompted a «reappraisal of the evidence that is needed» to support policymaking during large economic shocks. However, in order to do so, the central bank needs to start from the «evidence itself», as forecasting models are only «as good as the data that is fed into them», Dhingra argued. Ben Bernanke calls on Bank of England to consider publishing interest rate projections For instance, the MPC member outlined that, had the BoE had...

Pune Porsche case: Fadnavis defends police action
Pune police's action in the Porsche hit and run case, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis told the media Tuesday that a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered immediately by the city police. He also added that the police did not act in any kind of pressure or that any VIP treatment was doled out to the juvenile accused during his detention. A 17-and-a-half-year-old boy, son of a prominent city developer, mowed down a couple after his speeding Porsche car rammed into their motorcycle in the Yerwada area of Pune in the early hours of Sunday. The incident sparked outrage criticising the Pune police for handling the incident with ‘kid gloves’ after the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted bail in a record 15 hours and asked the accused to write a «300-word essay» on the topic of road accidents. The case has also snowballed into a political slugfest, with the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) accusing police authorities and an MLA of the ruling Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction of allegedly shielding the accused minor.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is creating two Indias, where even justice is dependent on wealth. «If bus, truck drivers, Uber, auto drivers accidentally kill someone, they are punished with 10 years of imprisonment. But if a 16-17 year old son of a rich family drives a Porsche and kills two people, he is asked to write an essay. Why don't you ask truck or a bus driver to write essay?» said Rahul Gandhi in a video on social media platform X.

IPL Eliminator: Rajasthan Royals desperate to arrest slide against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals will face a stern test of character as they look to arrest a shocking slide in a do-or-die IPL Eliminator against an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru, here on Wednesday. The Royals, at one stage, had looked set for a top-place finish in the league stage before a string of four defeats and a washout in the last game against KKR resulted in Sanju Samson's side finishing third behind Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, RCB have sensationally fought their way back from the brink of elimination. After losing seven of their first eight games this season, the team led by Faf du Plessis hit a dream run and finally knocked out defending champions Chennai Super Kings a few nights ago to seal a playoffs berth. If Rajasthan Royals are coming off four losses and a rained-off game, RCB have notched up six consecutive wins to sound a warning to their rivals that they mean business in the playoffs.
