Instagram War show stage stars shock Sporting ‘Chandu Champion’ trailer out! Karthik Aaryan shines as a decorated war veteran-turned-wrestler
Karthik Aaryan is virtually unrecognisable as a war veteran turned wrestler, who is willing to do what it takes to succeed against the odds in the trailer of his upcoming sports drama ‘Chandu Champion’. On Saturday, the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya 2’ star unveiled the trailer of the movie, in his hometown Gwalior. The energetic, fast-paced and engaging trailer takes you through the emotional journey of the titular character across various stages and milestones of his life. The trailers showcases his life as a youth with ambitions of becoming a professional wrestler, joining the military and getting shot in the 1965 war, etc. The poster, which showed the Aaryan in a completely unfamiliar avatar, took fans by shock. In an Instagram post, director Kabir Khan praised Aaryan profusely for his dedication to transform his body without resorting to steroids. The ‘Freddy’ star had gone on a strict diet regimen, shedding his body fat. «The story of Chandu Champion is an incredibly inspiring true story but the journey that Kartik went through to become this champion is no less inspiring. I met him when he had put on weight for a role. He had 39 per cent body fat. I told him that he had to portray an international level multi-disciplinary sportsperson. He just smiled and said 'I will do it Sir'. A year and a half later with no use of steroids — something that he was adamant about — we took this photo on set. Body fat 7 per cent! I'm proud of you Kartik Aaryan,” praised the director.

UPS Citi Provident Metro wellness information shock Free bus rides for women: PM lacks info on Metro finances, says Dy CM Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday said Karnataka's Shakti scheme providing for free bus rides for women has not led to any revenue loss for the Bangalore Metro, and he was shocked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments. “The Prime Minister lacks information on the Shakthi scheme and hence he has said that the scheme has impacted revenues of Bengaluru metro. Namma metro has earned a revenue of Rs 130 crore in the last one year. Footfalls too have gone up by 30% for the same period. Bengaluru metro is limited to Bengaluru, while Shakthi scheme has been rolled out across the State," he told the media in Bengaluru. The Dy CM was questioning the PM's assessment of metro finances. The PM, in a recent interview, had questioned the freebies that potentially create a crisis of funds for a state government. The governments, he said, would build metro networks in a city, but later promise free bus rides in the same city to win elections. This meant taking away 50% of passengers.

Extreme economy WhatsApp poverty country shock International India could become 3rd largest economy by 2027-28, extreme poverty in rural areas largely conquered: Arvind Panagariya
India could become the third largest economy globally by 2027-28 if the country continues the growth momentum witnessed in the last two decades, 16th Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya said on Friday. He also said that during the last two decades, beginning 2003-4, India has ended extreme poverty. The extreme poverty, currently, is not more than 3 per cent of the total population. «Growth has been across the board because poverty does concentrate in rural areas. With overall poverty falling to low levels, extreme poverty has been conquered largely,» Panagariya said. Speaking at the CII's Annual Business Summit 2024, Panagariya said there is a problem of under-employment in the agriculture sector as a large portion of the workforce is engaged in the segment, and there is a need to move them out of the vertical to industry for faster urbanisation.
