Apple CEO Tim Cook's surprising confession: Even he didn't know about this iPhone feature
In The Wall Street Journal Magazine interview when Cohen asked, «What’s the best name for a group chat?» Cook appeared momentarily bewildered. “I don’t name them,” he replied, emphasizing his surprise at the notion. The journalist noted that Cook's expression resembled that of someone asked to recommend an Android phone. This amusing interaction highlights the disconnect that can occur between high-level executives and everyday user experiences. However, Cook embraced the suggestion and later shared on social media that he had named a group chat with his college friends “Roommates,” showing his willingness to engage with the feature.

2 top stock recommendations from Sudeep Shah
«So, when two of these bigger indices are showing some kind of support, I feel that this 24,300, 24,400 zone positionally for Nifty should act as an important support,» says Sudeep Shah, SBI Securities. Well, the screen is looking much better than what was the case yesterday. Is the poison out of the system? Have we formed a bottom? Sudeep Shah: I cannot really say that the poison is out of the system or we have formed a bottom because it is the first day after last three-four days where we have seen absolute carnage in terms of midcaps and even selected largecaps. However, what is encouraging to see today is that yesterday and in the last few days we have seen banking, especially ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank stabilising somewhat and on the other hand, even the IT stocks are showing some positive traction.

Goldman Sachs cuts Indian stocks to neutral on slowing growth
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. tactically lowered Indian equities to neutral from overweight as slowing economic growth dents the outlook for corporate earnings. “While we believe the structural positive case for India remains intact, economic growth is cyclically slowing down across many pockets,” strategists including Sunil Koul wrote in a note on Tuesday. Worsening earnings sentiment, an accelerating pace of earnings-per-share cuts and a weak start to the September-quarter results season indicate an impact on profits, they added.

TSMC told US of chip in Huawei product after TechInsights finding, source says
Huawei product after tech research firm TechInsights took apart the product, a person familiar with the matter said, revealing a possible violation of export restrictions on the Chinese company. The first source would not identify the item, but said the TSMC chip was one within a multi-chip system. TechInsights informed TSMC of the chip before publishing its findings in a report, the person said, prompting the Taiwanese firm to notify the U.S. Commerce Department a couple of weeks ago.

Banks leaned more on short-term debt for funding needs this fiscal
certificates of deposits (CDs) jumped 69% on-year to ₹5.58 lakh crore in FY25 up to October 4, as lenders turned to short-term debt instruments for their funding needs instead of raising deposit rates and facing pressure on net interest margins. In its October bulletin, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said primary market issuances of CDs by banks were at ₹5.58 lakh crore from April 1 to October 4. The RBI noted that banks preferred to bridge a funding gap through short-term debt instruments «rather than raising deposit rates.» Banks have faced pressure to mobilise funds through various avenues over the past couple of years as credit growth has outpaced deposit growth, although the extent of the wedge between the two has narrowed over the last couple of months. As on October 4, bank credit growth was at 14.1% year-on-year, while deposit growth was at 12.2% over the same period, RBI data showed.

As North America gains traction, IT companies note softness in Europe
Europe was a bright spot for the Indian IT industry's growth when its chips were down. But as North America has started gaining traction for the IT services industry, the other side of the pond has begun to show signs of softness for many of the top IT companies. Experts also say Europe is facing a decelerating economy which is unlikely to improve in the near future and, hence, clients are pulling back hard on discretionary spends and looking to delay large projects. While IT leaders' commentaries on Europe didn't reflect on their Q2 numbers, analysts say they are largely reflective of deal pipelines and will show in coming quarters. Infosys in its Q2 earnings call said that in Europe, the automotive sector was challenged recently while discretionary spend remains under pressure.

Did CBS edit Kamala Harris's interview? The news network has finally broken its silence
Kamala Harris in the interview on ‘60 minutes’, reported New York Post. The network had to come with this acknowledgement as the former US President Donald Trump appeared with the claim that the editing was deceitful and it held an intention of making the appearance of Kamala Harris more articulate. According to New York Post, CBS News has rejected the assertions made by Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump firmly and labeled them as ‘false’. CBS News asserted that the editing of different portions of Kamala Harris’s answer to the repeated question regarding the actions taken by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amidst the unrest situation in the Middle East asked by the interviewer Bill Whitaker was done for clarity. New York Post noted that in a statement, CBS also came with an explanation that this version of the show has appeared to be more succinct with the allowance for a broader level of discussion with the segment of 21 minutes. Karoline Leavitt, the campaign spokesperson of Donald Trump has argued that the admission of CBS has confirmed the accusation of manipulation made by them for presenting Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris in a way which is more favorable.
