FMCG companies to see muted demand in June quarter, recovery likely in H2
Demand for daily groceries, essentials and household products will likely be muted in the current quarter, global research firm Kantar said, but it indicated a rural-led recovery in the second half of FY25 even though urban consumption could remain a relative straggler. Overall volumes, which indicate the number of products consumers bought, expanded 5.2% in the March quarter, unchanged from the three months to December. Sales volumes in rural markets climbed 5.8%, and in cities by 4.7%, from a year earlier, data from Kantar showed. Kantar monitors branded and unorganised products, including unpackaged voluminous commodities. Nielsen, on the other hand, tracks primarily branded retail sales. «There was significant inflation that led to shrinkflation, or consumers downgrading. But the worst is behind us and there is visibility of better growth,» said Saugata Gupta, managing director, Marico. «There will obviously be volume improvement although there will be some pricing growth as well. We definitely see a double-digit revenue growth.»

'Dushman' star Ashutosh Rana says current Bollywood is a 'golden period' for actors like him
Mumbai, Actor Ashutosh Rana believes his acting career is still in the early stages, even though he has been a part of the industry for over three decades. Rana, who has received recognition for his work in films like «Dushman», «Sarfarosh», «Mulk», «Sonchiriya», «Pathaan» and «Fighter», said he is happy that the lines between mainstream and off-beat cinema has blurred today. «I feel there is a lot left in Ashutosh Rana. The actor in Ashutosh Rana is like a child who has just started walking and is taking baby steps. There is a lot to come. Why I think this way is because I started with films which were called off-beat cinema and that has become mainstream cinema now. »For the actors like me, it is a golden period," the actor, who is headlining the latest OTT show "Murder in Mahim", told PTI in an interview.

The man who never says no to Zendaya
Law Roach seemed to be at the peak of his career as a celebrity stylist. He had won the first Stylist of the Year award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and was working with Zendaya, Celine Dion, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Anne Hathaway, among others. Then, out of the blue, he announced on Instagram that he was quitting. «The politics, the lies, and false narratives finally got me!» he wrote. «You win I'm out.» Cue shock, horror and a lot of speculation. There were rumors that he had called Priyanka Chopra Jonas fat. Rumors that he had thrown a tantrum because Louis Vuitton wouldn't seat him next to Zendaya in the front row.
