Congress has filed a complaint to the Election Commission against BJP national president JP Nadda, social media in-charge Amit Malviya, and state chief BY Vijayendra for allegedly posting a video on social media aimed at «intimidating» members of Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe to not vote for Congress in the Lok Sabha polls. In a complaint filed to the Chief Electoral Officer in Bengaluru, the party also alleged the violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by using animated videos of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by portraying the Congress party as favouring a particular religion (Muslims) and suppressing members of SC/STs and OBC communities, with the intention to create feelings of enmity, hatred and ill-will against members of the SC/ST community. Ramesh Babu, Chairman, Media and Communication of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), said in the complaint, "… the tenor of video… is in nature of intimidating persons belonging to SC/ST Community that leaders of Congress party are likely to favour Muslims at cost of SC/ST Community. Since, elections to Lok Sabha is being held on 07/05/2024 in 14 constituencies, the video post of BJP on their official social media handle is nothing but intimidating SC/ST community not to cast a vote to Congress. This is a clear case of intimidating SC/ST community members and further projecting SC/ST community people in a bad light showing them as 'Eggs' and being kicked by another religion i.e., Muslims."

Rats! They fought the dogs and killed the cats/ And bit the babies in their cradles/ And ate the cheese out of the vats/ And licked the soup from the cooks' own ladles.' Had he been around today, Robert Browning might have penned those lines to describe not medieval Hamelin, but present-day New York City. NYC has been plagued by an infestation of rodents, which has left it, known for a different kind of rat race, in dire straits. While it is no stranger to rats, there's been a Malthusian population explosion of the varmints who lurk in abandoned tenements and vacant lots. To confound the pestiferous problem, civic authorities must contend with animal rights advocacy, which disapproves of the eradication methods, involving employment of specially trained hunting dogs, painful glue traps, or the use of poisons, which lead to a lingering demise.

SUN BURST Cycling social shock Massive solar flares erupt, power grids, telecommunication networks may be hit hard. Know in detail
Power grids, telecommunication networks and orbiting satellites can be hit hard across the world as two colossal solar flare explosions have occurred recently. These solar flares can also expose astronauts to dangerous doses of radiation. Solar flare explosions trigger geomagnetic storms which in turn spark dynamic aurora displays visible at latitudes beyond their 'normal' polar range. According to 'space.com', the first eruption took place on May 2 when the sun released the most powerful category flare, an X-class solar flare. It caused shortwave radio blackouts across Australia, Japan and much of China. The second solar explosion occurred on May 3, when an M-class solar flare, peaked around 4:00 a.m. EDT (0800 GMT).
