A few hours before the up-and-coming rapper Odetari released his latest album on the major streaming platforms, fans got a chance to hear it first in an unlikely venue: a videogame. Music has long been a part of games, but artists—from Gen X stalwart Metallica and pop star Lady Gaga to rapper Big Sean and indie act Weyes Blood—have been doubling down on the medium in recent years, taking advantage of modern tactics for reaching the industry’s massive youth-oriented user base. Artists are signing deals with game companies to debut new songs through interactive events and as background music for games themselves, in some cases weeks before those tracks are released on the likes of Spotify.

Mumbai man takes daughter to police over phone 'addiction', minor girl alleges rape by father
Mumbai man has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting his minor daughter after the matter came to light during a counselling session with the police. The incident unfolded in Mumbai, where the victim, a 17-year-old girl, resides with her parents. The father approached the police seeking assistance, expressing concern over his daughter's excessive use of social media and her rebellious behavior towards her parents. The father told Poilce that his daughter was glued to social media and her phone all the time and said she no longer listens to her parents and yells back at them. He requested the police to counsel her. Subsequently, the girl and her mother came to the police station. Hoping for guidance, he requested the police to counsel her. Responding promptly, a woman police officer took charge of the counselling session, enlightening the young girl on the potential risks associated with excessive social media and internet usage. The officer also encouraged her to voice any issues she might be facing. Viksit Bharat: The need for devising robust policies to harness potential of India’s evolving demography
In her interim budget last month, Nirmala Sitharaman proposed establishing a panel to deliberate on challenges arising from population growth and demographic changes so that India can attain developed country status by 2047. To this effect, it becomes critical to decipher the intricacies of these challenges and delineate a clear path forward. What precisely are these challenges, and how can they be effectively confronted to pave the way for a prosperous and inclusive future? I present six challenges that hold the key to unlocking India's true potential. 'Fast population growth,' while historically significant, is not the paramount challenge we confront today. Surpassing China as the world's most populous country last year marked a watershed moment. But recent data heralds a major shift: India stands on the brink of achieving a total fertility rate of 2.1, a threshold revered as 'replacement level fertility' by demographers. While this milestone doesn't signify an immediate halt to population growth, it signals a pivotal juncture in our demographic evolution.

Tejashwi Yadav responds to Modi's barbs about father Lalu Prasad at Patna rally
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took to the stage on Sunday to highlight his father Lalu Prasad's accomplishments as the railway minister, a day after corruption allegations were leveled against him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yadav delivered his response to the prime minister at a massive rally in the Bihar capital, where prominent opposition figures such as Rahul Gandhi, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury also addressed the crowd. Referring to Modi's speeches at back-to-back rallies in Aurangabad and Begusarai districts, Yadav said, «Modi ji had indirectly taunted me yesterday, saying I was wary of speaking about my father's deeds. I am responding to him. May he take note with eyes and ears open as I speak in front of the massive crowd (Jan sailab) out here». He added, «My father had turned the railways around in the UPA government. Earlier, it was making losses but under his stewardship, it made a profit of Rs 90,000 crore. He also gave permanent jobs to coolies and introduced kulhads (earthen pots) in catering services for the benefit of our potter brethren».
