Israel says Houthis seize ship in Red Sea, no Israelis among owners or crew
Israel said on Sunday that Yemen's Houthis had seized a British-owned and Japanese-operated cargo ship in the southern Red Sea, describing the incident as an "Iranian act of terrorism" with consequences for international maritime security. The Houthis, an ally of Tehran, have been launching long-range missile and drone salvoes at Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian Hamas militants it has been battling in the Gaza Strip since Oct 7. Last week, the Houthi leader said his forces would make further attacks on Israel and they could target Israeli ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. There was no immediate comment from the Houthis on Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said a ship — which it did not name — had been seized, and stressed that Israel was not involved in its ownership, operation or the make-up of its international crew. «There were no Israelis on the ship,» it said. «This is another Iranian act of terrorism that represents an escalation in Iran's belligerence against the citizens of the free world, with concomitant international ramifications vis-a-vis the security of global shipping routes.» The Israeli military said in an earlier statement the ship seizure took place in the Red Sea.

SHOCKER! Congress MP says Israeli PM Netanyahu should be "shot and killed without trial" for "war crimes" in Gaza
Hamas in the besieged Gaza Strip, in the wake of the October 7 terror attacks, Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan came up with a shocker on Saturday, saying that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu «should be shot and killed without a trial». Speaking at a rally to demonstrate solidarity with Palestine in Kasargod, Kerala, amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the Congress leader openly advocated the "Nuremberg model" (invoking the trial of Nazis in Nuremberg for the holocaust) against the Israeli PM. «You can ask what should be done to those who break all agreements under the Geneva Convention. After the Second World War, there was something called the Nuremberg trials for bringing those (Nazis) guilty of war crimes to justice.

Dark Diwali night in conflict-torn Manipur‘s valley districts
Diwali, the festival of light on Monday, the valley districts of violence-hit Manipur erupted into a total blackout in the evening for 10 minutes from 6 to 6.10 pm as people, responding to the call of a civil body, turned off electric lights to show solidarity with the victims of the ongoing conflict. Divergent to the previous years, the valley districts, this time, witnessed no grand Diwali festivities though the Meitei Vaisnavites observed the day at their respective residences in low key with worshipping Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and fortune. The same symbolic way of showing solidarity with the strife victims will also be seen on Ningol Chakkouba, the biggest festival of Manipuri women which falls on Wednesday as the people have declared to forgo it. On Ningol Chakkouba day Meitei women, particularly the married ones, attired in their best traditional clothes, move to their natal homes and enjoy a bunch of mouth-watering fish dishes with their siblings and parents.

However, there was no traditional exchange of sweets and pleasantries between the two sides along the International Border (IB), the officials said, attributing it to the tense situation following the recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan Rangers that left a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan dead.

After Rashmika Mandanna calls deepfake video 'scary', Mrunal Thakur & Naga Chaitanya show solidarity
Rashmika Mandanna sashaying into an elevator, wearing a little black dress with a plunging neckline, sparked outrage online, when it was found to be an AI generated deepfake. From fans to Bollywood bigshots like Amitabh Bachchan, many people came to her defence. The 'Pushpa' star finally opened up about the traumatic experience on Monday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that the entire ordeal had been really «scary» for her, both as an actress as well as a woman. «I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused. Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this,» reads her post. She ended with an urgent plea to the public to take stringent action against perpetrators.
