SPY War Relationships International US, UK spy chiefs praise Ukraine's 'audacious' Russia incursion; call for Gaza cease-fire
intelligence agencies said Saturday that Ukraine's surprise incursion into Russia is a significant achievement that could change the narrative of the grinding 2 1/2-year war. Richard Moore, the head of MI6, said Kyiv's surprise move in August to seize territory in Russia's Kursk region was «typically audacious and bold on the part of the Ukrainians, to try and change the game». He said the offensive had «brought the war home to ordinary Russians». Speaking alongside Moore at a rare public event in London, CIA Director William Burns said the offensive was a «significant achievement» that had exposed vulnerabilities in the Russian military. Burns also warned of the growing and «troubling» defence relationship between Russia, China, Iran and North Korea that he said threatens both Ukraine and Western allies in the Middle East. Death SPY rights Investigations Beluga Was Hvaldimir the “spy whale" shot dead? Animal rights groups demand investigation
Animal rights groups claimed that "Hvaldimir," a beluga whale well-known for its alleged connections to the Russian military, had been shot to death. The whale made headlines across the world in 2019 when it was spotted off the coast of Norway. It was wearing a harness made of metal, which led to speculation that Russia had been training it to be a spy. Animal rights organizations NOAH and One Whale claimed that gunshot was the cause of the whale's demise and pushed Norwegian police to launch a criminal inquiry into the event, as per the reports of The Moscow Times. Hvaldimir's body was discovered on Saturday in a bay on the southwest coast of Norway. Following that, his remains were transferred to the Norwegian Veterinary Institute for an autopsy; the results are expected to be available in three weeks. After seeing the whale's corpse, Regina Crosby Haug, the leader of One Whale, verified that it had sustained many gunshot wounds. Hvaldimir's bloodied body was depicted in photos that One Whale and NOAH published, and they clearly indicated bullet holes. The director of NOAH, Siri Martinsen, stressed the gravity of the injuries and voiced concern about the possibility of criminal conduct. At present, the police are assessing the amount of evidence to see if a formal inquiry should be launched.

SPY shooting Olympics stars Sporting athletics Turkish star Yusuf Dikec wants to trademark his viral Olympic shooting stance. What it means
Yusuf Dikec has become a global sensation after his nonchalant stance at the Paris Games went viral, capturing the attention of fans, fellow athletes, and even world's richest person like Elon Musk. This pose, characterized by his non-shooting hand casually tucked into his pocket, has sparked a frenzy of memes, comparisons to fictional spy James Bond, and widespread imitation both within and outside the sporting world. Recognizing the overwhelming popularity of his stance, Dikec has taken steps to protect his iconic pose by filing for a trademark with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. His coach, Erdinc Bilgili, revealed that the move was prompted by several attempts to trademark the pose without Dikec's knowledge or consent. «After being informed of numerous trademark registration initiatives carried out without Yusuf Dikec's knowledge, we submitted an application about a week ago,» Bilgili told AFP, adding that the «other applications have been rejected.» The decision to trademark the pose is not just about protecting Dikec's intellectual property but also about safeguarding the commercial use of his likeness. The viral nature of his pose has led to the creation of various memorabilia, including T-shirts, mugs, and mobile phone covers, all bearing his image. Turkish news channel TRT Haber reported the widespread sale of such items, further emphasizing the need for trademark protection.
