Congress MLA Babu Jandel from Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus through his alleged derogatory remarks about Lord Shiva, an official said on Saturday. The FIR was filed at Tukoganj police station late Friday night based on a complaint lodged by the Vishva Hindu Parishad's legal cell's Malwa Prant (Indore-Ujjain division) convener and lawyer Anil Naidu, he said. The case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 299 (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 302 (intentionally hurting someone's religious feelings), he said. Talking to PTI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Hansraj Singh said an FIR has already been registered against Jandel in Sheopur for his alleged derogatory remarks about Lord Shiva, and the case filed in Indore will be attached with that original FIR.

Mira Murati, former chief technology officer at OpenAI, is raising funds from venture capitalists for her new AI startup, according to sources familiar with the matter. The new company aims to build AI products based on proprietary models, said one of the sources who requested anonymity to discuss private matters. Delhi Pollution Control Committee on Monday ordered complete ban on manufacturing, storage, selling and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers upto January 1, 2025 in the national capital. Delhi's air quality worsened to the 'poor' category on Sunday, the day after Dussehra, with the Centre deciding to closely monitor the situation before taking anti-air pollution measures under Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Delhi's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 224 on Sunday, according to the 4 pm AQI bulletin from the Central Pollution Control Board. GRAP is categorised into four stages based on Delhi's air quality: Stage I — 'Poor' (AQI 201-300); Stage II — 'Very Poor' (AQI 301-400); Stage III — 'Severe' (AQI 401-450); and Stage IV — 'Severe Plus' (AQI >450).
