The assertions by the ruling party leaders came a day after Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray slammed the BJP over the notice. BJP legislator Mangal Prabhat Lodha said the Dadar Hanuman temple will be protected. Lodha visited the shrine near Platform No. 12 at Dadar East, adjacent to the Central Railway station. He interacted with the temple trustees and joined the 'aarti'.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) has provided Rs 2 lakh life insurance coverage to over 21 crore beneficiaries, ensuring financial security for families in times of uncertainty, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday. The Finance Ministry in a social media post on X added that the cumulative enrolment under the PMJJBY has recorded at 21.67 crore, and the cumulative number of claims received was 860,575, worth Rs 17,211.50 as of October 20 this year. PMJJBY is a one-year life insurance scheme renewable from year to year, offering coverage for death due to any reason. Persons in the age group of 18-50 years having an individual bank or a post office account are entitled to enrol under the scheme.

People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said the idea of 'one nation, one election' undermines the the country's federal structure. «Unfortunately, this NDA government is destroying India's Constitution day by day. India is a federal country, which has a federal structure. By talking of 'one nation, one election', you are undermining that federal structure,» Mufti told reporters here. The NDA government talks of making a «Viksit Bharat» by 2047, but actually they are «taking the country backwards», she said. «They talk of 2047, but they are rather moving backwards. After the country became independent, there was 'one nation, one election' (in the early years). After that, there has been distribution of power among regions and a federal structure was born. They want to take us back to the same dictatorship which I think is very wrong,» she added.

People call it the longest written Constitution in the world but the Constitution contains a set of ideas from one philosophy of our nation. When we look at the Constitution and we open the Constitution we hear the voices and ideas of Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru. But where do these ideas come from? These ideas came from old profound, traditions in this country. Those ideas came from Shiva, Guru Nanak, Buddha, Kabir, and Mahaavir. When we speak of the Constitution and we show the Constitution of course it is the document of modern India. but it could never have been written without ancient India, and its ideas,» Rahul Gandhi said in the Lok Sabha.

IndiGo flight en route to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was on Saturday forced to make an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's Karachi city following a medical emergency onboard. The aircraft, which departed from New Delhi, was in Pakistani airspace when a male passenger fell seriously ill, according to sources from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has enhanced the collateral-free loan limit for farmers from Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, effective January 1, 2025, a move aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers amid rising input costs. The new directive instructs banks nationwide to waive collateral and margin requirements for agricultural and allied activity loans up to Rs 2 lakh per borrower. According to the agriculture ministry, the decision comes in response to the rising input costs and the need to improve credit accessibility for farmers. «This measure will significantly benefit over 86 per cent of farmers who are small and marginal landholders,» the statement said. Banks have been instructed to implement the guidelines swiftly and ensure widespread awareness about the new loan provisions.

He said that during the first cabinet meeting, they should announce the construction of an EVM temple in front of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur. First of all, the procession of the Chief Minister will be taken out there (in Nagpur). I think that before taking out the procession of the CM, they should take out a procession of EVMs and in the first cabinet they should make a decision to construct a temple of EVMs in front of RSS Headquarters," Raut said in a press conference here.
