Special public prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh, representing Delhi police, submitted that Balyan's interrogation was required to unearth the larger conspiracy in the case.

marital status being a significant determinant of labour force participation rate (LFPR) for both women and men, shows a working paper by the Economic Advisory Council to the PM (EAC-PM). “At the national level, rural female LFPR surged from 24.6% to 41.5% while urban LFPR rose modestly from 20.4% to 25.4% with significant interstate variations,” the paper, authored by Shamika Ravi, member, EAC-PM and Mudit Kapoor of Indian Statistical Institute, said. According to the paper, rural areas in states like Jharkhand (233% growth) and Bihar (6x growth) have seen significant growth while northeastern states like Nagaland have seen a jump to 71.1% from 15.7% during the period.

K Raheja Corp has acquired two prime properties including Bayside Mall, one of the early shopping malls of India, and Popular Press Building spread over more than half an acre in south Mumbai’s plush Tardeo locality for over Rs 355 crore. The company has bought these properties through its Ivory Property Trust from Jaydev Mody-led AAA Holding Trust. Ivory Property Trust has paid stamp duty of Rs 21.30 crore for the registration of the deal that took place on August 13. Bayside Mall has a basement, ground and two upper floors built over one-third of an acre. The mall, with a total built-up area of 17,345 sq ft, earlier had 105 units but now has 75 units following the amalgamation of certain units.

Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently clarified that under exceptional circumstances, a stock broker can upload the same mobile number or email address for more than one client if the clients belong to the same family. A retail investor can use his number or email ID to operate his family members’ demat accounts under certain conditions. Family for this purpose would mean self, spouse, dependent children and dependent parents. SEBI said that this is possible only under certain circumstances and on the client's written request. This rule will come into force with immediate effect. According to a SEBI circular on December 3, 2024, “Master circular states the following regarding uploading of mobile number and e-mail by stock brokers: Stock Brokers shall ensure that separate mobile number/email address is uploaded for each client. However, under exceptional circumstances, the stock broker may, at the specific written request of a client, upload the same mobile number / email address for more than one client provided such clients belong to one family. Family for this purpose would mean self, spouse, dependent children and dependent parents.”

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha today, Jaishankar explained India's decision to abstain from voting in some of the resolutions regarding the Gaza conflict in the United Nations General Assembly. In response to TMC MP Saket Gokhale's question on India's stance on a two-state solution to Palestine, Jaishankar said, «We support the two-state solution and we have been public and unambiguous about that. So, there should be no cause for confusion regarding the two-state solution.»

finished steel imports from China reached an all-time high during the first seven months of the current financial year from April, according to provisional government data reviewed by Reuters, rattling hundreds of small Indian steel producers. ITC is expanding its network of FPOs, further aiming to connect one crore farmers in the next 4-5 years and scaling up sourcing of fruits and vegetables through this platform, said its Agri Business Division CEO S Ganesh. ITC, present in around 22 states through FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) and working on 20 crops, has plans to expand and deepen it further in states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Bihar.
