Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expresses concern over Rajasthan court notice on Ajmer shrine
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday expressed concern over the Rajasthan court’s notice on a suit on the famous Sufi shrine of saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer terming it as “disturbing” and a “serious” issue for Muslims across the subcontinent. He was referring to a plea filed in September at the local court in Ajmer, seeking directions to start worship at the Ajmer Shrine, which the plea claimed was a Shiva temple. On November 27, the court issued notices to the dargah committee, the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Archaeological Survey of India concerning the shrine, which is visited by devotees across the religious and political spectrum. Mirwaiz, while addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid in downtown Srinagar, said the Rajasthan court order right after the killing of five Muslim youth in Sambhal of Uttar Pradesh in discriminatory police action.

Mercedes to use Momenta software in 4 models, accelerate China comeback, sources say
Mercedes-Benz is betting on China's Momenta to help it win back market share in the world's biggest auto market, with plans for fresh investment and at least four future models to use the autonomous driving startup's software, three sources with knowledge of the matter said. The plans, which have not been previously reported, will make autonomous-driving developer Momenta the first Chinese supplier picked by Mercedes to be a primary provider of a key technology and selling point for its products, as intense competition and technological innovation in China force Western automakers to rethink their supply-chain strategies. The German premium automaker has since 2017 had an investment in Momenta but the two companies have yet to publicly announce jointly developed products.

Integrity of electoral process severely compromised, Cong to soon launch movement: CWC
Congress Working Committee met here on Friday and adopted a resolution alleging the integrity of the entire electoral process was being severely compromised against which the party would soon launch a movement. In the resolution of the top body of the Congress, the party said free and fair elections is a Constitutional mandate that was being called into «serious question by the partisan functioning of the Election Commission». The CWC, which met amid the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, said the session has been a washout so far because of the Narendra Modi government's «stubborn refusal» to have an immediate discussion on three pressing national issues — «the recent revelations regarding corruption by a business group, and the violence in Manipur and Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal». Asked why the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution does not name the business group, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, «The answer is the Adani group».
