Sun bears in Chinese zoo are humans? Here's what authorities have said
sun bears might be humans dressed in bear costumes, after a video of a bear standing on its hind legs sparked speculation online. The zookeepers released a statement from the perspective of Angela, a Malaysian sun bear, emphasizing that not all bears are large and menacing, and that sun bears are actually petite, being the smallest bear species in the world, according to reports. The video led to suggestions that the bear might be a person in a bear costume due to its slender legs and fur folds resembling a human. However, the zoo spokesperson refuted these claims, asserting that the bear in the video is real and that there is no deception happening at the state-run facility. He pointed out that a human wearing a bear suit in the scorching 40°C (104°F) summer temperature would not be able to last more than a few minutes before collapsing. To dispel further doubts, the zoo is arranging visits for reporters to witness the bears firsthand. Sun bears are relatively small, comparable in size to large dogs, standing at a maximum of 1.3 meters (50 inches) tall on their hind legs, unlike larger bear species such as grizzlies, which can reach up to 2.8 meters in height.

Sun Pharma eyes high single-digit revenue growth in FY24
Sun Pharma is looking at high single-digit growth in its consolidated topline this fiscal on the back of robust performance from all its business verticals, according to company's Managing Director Dilip Shanghvi. The Mumbai-based company had reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 43,278 crore in 2022-23. «All our businesses are well-positioned, and we expect high-single-digit consolidated topline growth for FY24,» Shanghvi informed shareholders through company's Annual Report for 2022-23. He noted that the global pharmaceutical industry remains quite dynamic, and always buzzing with new avenues for capital deployment. Pursuing any one of these options can place considerable pressure on the balance sheet, he added. «Success is not guaranteed, and it is important for us that we remain thoughtful and selective in deciding which options to pursue. However, we will not shy away from making disproportionate investments to grow our businesses, should an opportunity present itself,» Shanghvi said. The drug maker is currently sitting on a net cash position of around USD 1.5 billion, he said.

Q1 earnings, FII action, auto sales among 9 factors to keep Dalal Street busy this week
The week ahead is also expected to be a busy one for Dalal Street investors, as a slew of companies are scheduled to release quarterly earnings. This is likely to keep action extremely stock-centric. Moreover, foreign investors have slowed down their pace of buying. While the overall trajectory for markets remains positive, consolidation is likely on cards after the strong rally in the recent months. “In the coming days, domestic earnings will remain a crucial driver, while global cues will also play a vital role in shaping market trends,” said Vinod Nair, head of research, Geojit Financial Services.
