Stoks to buy today: After weak opening during morning deals, the Indian stock market witnessed sharp recovery on Monday. All frontline indices ended higher whereas the broad market indices witnessed sharp upswing from the intraday low. The mid-cap index finished 0.36 percent higher whereas the small-cap index recovered 800 points from the intraday low.

Shriram Finance: US-based Warburg Pincus has acquired a majority stake in Shriram Housing Finance Ltd (SHFL) for ₹4,630 crore, marking its largest deal in India. The acquisition was made through its affiliate Mango Crest Investment Ltd from Shriram Finance Ltd (SFL) and other sellers. The deal is expected to be completed by February 7, 2025.

Kumar Mangalam Birla’s Hindalco Industries Ltd., is seeking to complete a planned US initial public offering as soon as early June, according to people familiar with the matter. The company, owned by a unit of India’s Hindalco, could begin formally marketing the deal in about two weeks, they said, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public. Novelis on Monday filed publicly with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for the listing.

MUMBAI : Having achieved its target of a billion-dollar book in the small business segment, DBS Bank India now plans to double its exposure in three years, a senior banker said, underscoring the lender’s optimism around a sector that contributes nearly 30% to the gross domestic product (GDP) and is a significant job creator. “We are growing our SME (small and medium enterprise) book and we have added new products. Like startups, it is not only a lending business and there is a liability side of the business too," Rajat Verma, managing director and head of institutional banking at DBS Bank India said in an interview.
