Le Travenues Technologies, which operates the travel platform Ixigo rallied nearly 13% from its listing price of Rs 135 on BSE to the day’s high of Rs 152.21 after a healthy listing on the exchange at a premium of 45%. The company's shares were trading at a premium of Rs 30 in the unlisted market and the issue was booked nearly 98.34 times at close on strong interest from non-institutional and institutional buyers.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had, last September, filed a charge sheet against three Railway employees, including two engineers and a technician, in connection with the June 2 Balasore train accident last year, which had claimed over 290 lives. The trio was arrested by the agency in July last year. Those charge sheeted were the then senior section engineer (signal) Arun Kumar Mahanta, the then section engineer Mohammed Amir Khan and the then technician Pappu Kumar. All three were posted in Balasore district of Odisha. The trio was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, causing disappearance of evidence of offence with common intention and endangering the safety of persons travelling by Railways by wilful act or omission. The charge sheet was filed by the CBI in the court of Special Judicial Magistrate, Bhubaneswar. As per available information, the case is still hanging fire in the trial court.

NHAI will begin work on the Rs 4,000-crore Chattergala tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said on Monday. Gadkari on Monday chaired a review meeting that was also attended by Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh. «The prestigious Chhatergala tunnel work, costing about Rs 4,000 crore, will be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the underpasses on the Kathua express corridor section, wherever demanded by the public, will be undertaken at the earliest,» an official spokesperson said after the review meeting. During the meeting, Singh thanked Gadkari for accepting most of the suggestions and proposals put across by him.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the site of the Kanchenjunga Express train accident in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, on Monday afternoon to assess the situation firsthand. Travelling part of the way by motorbike due to the narrow roads, he emphasised that the immediate priority is the restoration of services on this crucial main line. «Right now our focus is on restoration. This is the main line. The rescue operation has been completed. This is not the time for politics. I will also meet the injured,» Vaishnaw stated.

direction reversal for trains passing through the station, turned into a life-altering event for passengers in the front and last coaches of the 13174 Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express on Monday. The express train was struck from behind by a goods train at Rangapani, near New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. The direction reversal at Lumding in Assam meant that the coaches which were initially at the front became the rear end of the train. A passenger in a sleeper coach located in the middle of the rake said, «The affected coaches were in the front till Lumding.» He explained that after the direction reversal, the affected four coaches — a general seating coach, two parcel vans, and a guard van — were at the rear end. The general seating coach was the most affected, being thrown onto adjacent tracks, he added.

Akasa Air, India’s youngest airline, is on an expansion spree. The airline has commenced operations to Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Now, Akasa will operate daily flight operations between Mumbai and Ridyadh, the airline said in a statement. As per the company, the inaugural flight on June 15, 2024 departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.
