United States has tweaked the International Entrepreneur Rule in a bid to attract more foreign entrepreneurs. Under the updated guidelines, foreign entrepreneurs can now potentially stay in the US for up to five years, contingent upon their venture's public benefit. Initially granted for two-and-a-half years, extensions may be granted based on criteria like funding milestones and job creation. The International Entrepreneur Rule (IER), administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), lets noncitizen entrepreneurs apply for authorized stay in the United States, known as «parole,» based on demonstrating significant public benefit through their business ventures. This allows them to work exclusively for their startup. Eligibility extends to the entrepreneur's spouse, but not their children, who may also be paroled.

IT sector undergoes significant transformations, India remains a pivotal hub for talent, adeptly navigating the tectonic shifts shaping the industry. In the June quarter alone, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) added 5,452 employees, pushing its total headcount to 606,998. State Bank of India (SBI) has hiked its benchmark marginal cost of fund based lending rate (MCLR) by 5 to 10 basis points in majority of tenures effective Monday. In an update on its website the country's largest lender said MCLR on one month to three years has been hiked by 5 to 10 basis points. One basis point is 0.01 percentage point. Following the hike, interest rates on loans linked to MCLR will likely go up by a similar quantum. The benchmark rate on one month MCLR has been hiked by 5 basis points to 8.35% while the three month MCLR has been hiked by 10 basis points to 8.40%.

Gaza Strip: Hamas said Sunday that Gaza cease-fire talks continue and the group's military commander is in good health, a day after the Israeli military targeted Mohammed Deif with a massive airstrike that local health officials said killed at least 90 people, including children. Deif's condition remained uncertain after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday night «there still isn't absolute certainty» he was killed. Hamas representatives gave no evidence to back up their assertion about the health of a chief architect of the Oct. 7 attack that sparked the war.
