UPS FIVE Remark Election reports Courts Defamation case against Rahul Gandhi: UP court defers hearing to April 15
Rahul Gandhi due to the complainant's failure to present a witness. Advocate Kashi Prasad Shukla, representing the Rae Bareli MP, confirmed that the hearing could not take place due to absence of witness. The hearing was supposed to take place on Thursday, but since the complainant failed to present any witness, no proceedings could be conducted, Shukla said. The court has now scheduled the next hearing for April 15, he added. The defamation case dates back to 2018, when local BJP leader Vijay Mishra filed a defamation suit against Gandhi over his alleged derogatory remarks against BJP leader Amit Shah made during the Karnataka assembly elections. During the five years between 2018 and 2023, the case underwent multiple proceedings, but Gandhi reportedly failed to appear in court. In December 2023, following a warrant, the Congress leader appeared in court. In February 2024, he complied with the summons and the special magistrate granted him bail on two sureties of Rs 25,000 each. The court later instructed him to record his statement, which was finally completed on July 26, 2024, though after multiple postponements.

UPS Booking social Schools Videos politician 'First from my family to go to school': 7-year-old UP girl's determination to save her books amidst demolition drive wins hearts
Ananya Yadav, a Class 1 student, came at the digital forefront when she rushed to save her schoolbooks during a bulldozer demolition drive that targeted her family’s home. The emotional moment, where she is seen running out clutching her schoolbag, quickly went viral, drawing attention from the Supreme Court, political leaders, and social media users alike. The incident unfolded on March 21, when Ananya returned home from her primary school to find a bulldozer arriving at her makeshift home. The district administration had brought the bulldozer to demolish what they deemed illegal structures built by Ananya’s family on government land. While her family was still in the midst of disputing the claims, Ananya noticed an adjacent hut catch fire, and without hesitation, she sprinted into her home to retrieve her most prized possession—her schoolbag. «I am the first person in my family who goes to school. I study in Class 1 in a government primary school. My younger brother Adarsh has also started going to school,» Ananya shared. Despite her parents being daily wage workers and unlettered, Ananya expressed immense pride in attending school. «Since no fee is charged, my brother and I are able to attend the school,» she explained, noting that the books were a gift from her teachers and local villagers after she excelled in tests. When asked what inspired her to dream big, Ananya enthusiastically shared, «A senior officer once visited my school. I do not know his name, but teachers told us he was an IAS officer. He became my inspiration, and therefore I too want to be an IAS,» she said, her eyes shining with determination.

UPS economy Research Trade Experts country US reciprocal tariff may erode India's GDP by up to 50 bps: Experts
EY Chief Policy Advisor D K Srivastava said, «the maximum adverse impact on India's GDP growth will not be higher than 50 basis points. As per our earlier projection, the GDP growth estimate for current fiscal was 6.5 per cent, which may go down to 6 per cent without retaliation». Standard Chartered Bank Head — India, Economics Research, Anubhuti Sahay said an effective 20 per cent tariff increase on Indian exports to the US ( after considering the exempted goods) in our view is likely to adversely impact India's GDP by 35-40 bps, ceteris paribus. «However, the final impact would depend on the trade deal agreement between India and the US along with how each country negotiates/ retaliates on the proposed tariffs,» Sahay said. She said while a loss in India's GDP is inevitable on higher tariff rate imposition, India is likely to be relatively less impacted amongst the Asian economies as other countries have been hit by higher tariff rates than India or run a larger trade surplus with the US especially in the non-exempted sectors. According to EY's Srivastava, the US tariff hikes could have a favourable impact on the country's exchange rate as the dollar could come under pressure in the US with a likely rise in inflation.

UPS Provident WhatsApp Photos consequences EPFO eases claim process; cancelled cheque, bank account verification by employers not needed
At present, members of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), while applying for withdrawal of funds from PF accounts online, need to upload image of cheque leaf or attested photo copy of the passbook of the bank account seeded with the UAN (Universal Account Number) or PF number. The employers are also required to approve the bank account details of the applicant. The EPFO has completely dispensed with the requirement of uploading an image of a cheque leaf or attested bank passbook while filing online claims, the labour ministry said in a statement. These two steps have been done away with to ensure 'ease of living' for EPF members and 'ease of doing business' for employers. These measures will significantly streamline the process of claim settlement and reduce grievances related to claim rejections, it stated. These requirement were initially relaxed on a pilot basis for certain KYC-updated members. Since the pilot launch on May 28, 2024, the move has already benefited 1.7 crore EPF members. Following the successful pilot, EPFO has now extended this relaxation to all members, the ministry said.

markets UPS security Trade country Commentary Headlines Post tariff tantrum, expect a correction in short term; more positive on India in H2: Manishi Raychaudhuri
Manishi Raychaudhuri, Veteran Investor, says India is somewhere in the middle of the pack. Headline tariffs show that some Southeast Asian countries have been slapped with much larger tariffs. So all this is playing out, and the market did not have a drastic fall post the tariff announcement. However, we should not lull ourselves into a sense of security, just going by what we are seeing today. Tariffs at the rate of 34% have been slapped on China, add 20% of historical tariff and that makes it 54%. It is 26% in India, 40% in Vietnam and when such tariffs are slapped, financial markets get into a panic mode. But that is not happening. It is a good morning for Asia this morning. Markets have recovered from the day's low. Are markets getting complacent or it is time to move on? Manishi Raychaudhuri: To some extent, there is the possibility of demand retrenchment across the world, but particularly in the United States, that situation has not yet been factored in. The initial reaction of the market despite this is what I call a nuclear trade, almost a ‘nuclear battle’ in a sense in the trade regime.
