markets UPS Target Reuters Food show India inflation likely eased below 4% in February for the first time in six months
inflation likely eased below the Reserve Bank of India's medium-term target of 4.0% for the first time in six months on moderating food price rises, a Reuters poll showed, bolstering expectations of interest rate cuts. As fresh winter produce hit markets over the past few months, food items — which make up nearly half of the inflation basket — saw a sustained slowdown in price increases. That marked a welcome reprieve from supply disruptions last year when unpredictable monsoons and intense heat waves sent food prices soaring, often by double digits.

markets COST UPS Research rights Bharti Telecom needs much higher dividend income from Airtel to service loans: Analysts
Bharti Telecom Ltd (BTL) — the main promoter-level controlling company that owns 40.47% in Bharti Airtel — needs a much higher dividend payout from the Sunil Mittal-led telco from FY25 onwards to service its hefty interest costs, analysts said. This is since BTL’s estimated annualised finance cost at Rs 3,183.2 crore is sharply higher than the modest Rs 600.6 crore and Rs 876.9 crore in dividend income it received from Airtel in FY23 and FY24 respectively. According to analysts, BTL’s surging interest costs have been driven by its mounting debt — now at almost Rs 38,000 crore — as it has been regularly buying shares held by Airtel’s promoters — Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) and the Mittal family.

markets UPS Gap show rights Over 2 million AI jobs up for grabs in India by 2027...but there's a serious problem
“India has a unique opportunity to position itself as a global AI talent hub. However, by 2027, the job openings in AI are expected to be 1.5–2x of the talent availability. The challenge—and opportunity—lies in reskilling and upskilling a significant portion of the existing talent base on emerging technology tools and skillsets,” said Saikat Banerjee, Partner and leader in Bain & Company’s AI, Insights, and Solutions practice in India. He added, “The AI talent shortage is a significant challenge, but not invincible. Addressing it requires a fundamental shift in how businesses attract, develop, and retain AI talent.
