Did Elon Musk just sell X to 'himself' to save Tesla? Viral parody video speculates a billion-dollar shell game
Elon Musk made headlines—again—by revealing that he had officially sold X (formerly Twitter) to his artificial intelligence company, xAI, in a deal valued at $45 billion. On paper, it sounded like an ambitious move to synergize AI development with social media infrastructure. But a viral satirical video on Instagram has turned the announcement into something else entirely: a puzzle that many now believe has less to do with tech vision and more with strategic financial maneuvering. The video, created by Instagram user @genericartdad, took a comical yet razor-sharp jab at Musk’s business shuffle. Using a back-and-forth dialogue format where he plays both interviewer and Musk, the creator humorously dismantled the deal by asking one simple question: Why would you sell Twitter to yourself?

Rain complicates recovery in quake-hit Myanmar as death toll rises
death toll from a devastating earthquake has risen to nearly 3,500 people. The 7.7-magnitude quake struck on March 28, razing buildings, cutting off power and destroying bridges and roads across the country. Damage has been particularly severe in the city of Sagaing near the epicentre, as well as in Mandalay, Myanmar's second city and home to more than 1.7 million people. State media in the military junta-led country now say that the earthquake has caused 3,471 confirmed deaths and injured 4,671 people, while 214 remain missing. With people either having lost their homes entirely or reluctant to spend time in cracked and unstable structures, many Mandalay residents have been sleeping outside in tents.

Is 'Trump purposely crashing the market'? 'Wild chess move' theory sparks internet frenzy
Is Trump actually playing a strategic ‘chess’ game—and are we all just pawns? On April 2, Trump unveiled sweeping new tariffs on foreign imports, calling the day “Liberation Day” for American industry. The move includes a 25% tariff on all foreign-made cars and a baseline 10% tariff on imports from every country not part of the USMCA trade deal—leaving the EU, UK, and others scrambling to respond. China, of course, fired back with a 34% tariff on U.S. goods. But as the political fallout begins to swirl, a viral social media theory is giving the chaos a dramatic twist.

'Traitor' jibe case: Kunal Kamra fails to appear before Mumbai police; skips third summons
Kunal Kamra failed to appear before the Mumbai police on Saturday in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly passing a «traitor» jibe at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an official said. This is the third time Kamra has given police summons a miss, the official said. The Khar police booked Kamra on a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the deputy chief minister during a show. Kamra shot a video lampooning Shinde over the split in the Shiv Sena, and party workers later ransacked the studio and the hotel in which it is located on the night of March 23. The official said the Mumbai police asked Kamra to appear before it on April 5, issuing summons to him for the third time. Earlier this week, a team from the Khar police visited his residence in Mahim after he skipped the second summons.

When chess champions Viswanathan Anand, Gukesh Dommaraju danced their hearts out at grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi’s wedding. Videos go viral
chess grandmasters gather under one roof—at a wedding, no less? Naturally, the board is set for celebration, not competition. On April 2, GM Vidit Gujrathi tied the knot with Nidhi Kataria at the picturesque Oxford Golf Resort in Pune, India. Vidit, currently ranked 25th in the world on the live rating list, is one of India’s most prominent chess players, while Nidhi, 28, is a practicing homeopathic doctor. The couple announced their engagement last November, and their wedding has since been one of the most eagerly awaited events in the chess community. However, it was World Champions Viswanathan Anand and Gukesh Dommaraju who took the internet by storm with their moves. A host of grandmasters and top chess players, including 15th World Champion Viswanathan Anand and the newly crowned 18th World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju, brought their energy off the board and onto the dance floor. As seen in the video below, the baraat — Vidit’s celebratory wedding procession — turned into a vibrant celebration where strategy gave way to spirited moves. With a combined Elo that would rival any elite tournament, it was a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of chess royalty in full festive swing.

Did Warren Buffett really call Trump’s tariff move ‘the best economic move in 50 years’?
Warren Buffett wants the world to know: he’s not cheering Donald Trump’s tariff spree. And he hasn’t said a word about it—despite what viral videos and presidential posts might suggest. Berkshire Hathaway issued a rare public statement on Friday, flatly denying that Buffett ever praised Trump’s recent economic measures. “There are reports currently circulating on social media (including Twitter, Facebook and TikTok) regarding comments allegedly made by Warren E. Buffett. All such reports are false,” the company said. The clarification came hours after US President Donald Trump shared a video on Truth Social claiming Buffett had declared Trump was making “the best economic moves he’s seen in over 50 years.” The video, originally posted by an Instagram user called «AmericanPapaBear,» suggested Trump was “crashing” the stock market on purpose to make equities cheaper for the middle class. Trump’s repost came just as global markets were convulsing in response to his new tariffs.

US consumers rush to buy big-ticket items before Trump's tariffs kick in
Trump announced expansive new import tariffs Wednesday, including a 32% tax on imports from Taiwan. That same day, Gutierrez ordered the laptop, with a base price of $2,400, from a retailer in New York specializing in photo and video gear. «I thought I'd bite the bullet, buy it now, and then that way I'll have the latest technology on my laptop and don't have to worry about the tariffs,» he said. Gutierrez was among the U.S. consumers rushing to buy big-ticket items before the tariffs take effect. Economists say the tariffs are expected to increase prices for everyday items, warning of potentially weakened U.S. economic growth. The White House hopes the tariffs prod countries to open their economies to more American exports, leading to negotiations that could reduce tariffs, or that companies increase their production in the U.S. to avoid higher import taxes. Rob Blackwell and his wife needed a new car that could handle long drives from Arlington, Virginia, to their son's college. Their current electric vehicle is older with a limited range, and it will soon be used by his daughter, who is on the verge of getting her driver's license.

“That’s not a real person”: NY judges shut down AI avatar in courtroom twist
New York State appellate judges. A 74-year-old entrepreneur without legal training, he was there to contest a ruling in his employment case. But the real twist wasn’t in the lawsuit. It came when the video he submitted began playing in court. A young, clean-cut man appeared on the courtroom screen. “May it please the court,” the digital figure began. “I come here today a humble pro se before a panel of five distinguished justices.” It took just seconds for Justice Sallie Manzanet-Daniels to interrupt. “Ok, hold on. Is that counsel for the case?” “No,” Dewald replied from his seat. “I generated that. That’s not a real person.”

BJP leader Shazia Ilmi fined by Delhi HC for 'supressing facts' in case against journalist Rajdeep Sardesai
Delhi High Court on Friday imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on BJP leader Shazia Ilmi for suppressing crucial facts in her defamation case against India Today journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. The court found that Ilmi had willfully withheld two tweets that were part of the same conversation thread related to the incident in question, which led to the imposition of the penalty, reported Bar and Bench. The Delhi High Court bench, led by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, while partly allowing an application moved by Ilmi for interim relief, directed her to pay the Rs 25,000 cost to the Delhi High Court Bar Clerks’ Association within three weeks. The High Court emphasised that the suppression of these tweets, which were part of the ongoing discussion, was significant in determining the outcome of the case. «Since the plaintiff had willfully suppressed two (2) tweets which formed part of the same conversation thread of which the impugned quote tweet was part of and therefore, the plaintiff is saddled with the cost of Rs. 25,000/- payable to Delhi High Court Bar Clerks’ Association, through the secretary within a period of three (3) weeks,» the court stated in its ruling.
