Superman sneak peek: Krypto is a fan-favourite in new footage from James Gunn’s film
DC Studios movie Superman. The footage, which was first unveiled at CinemaCon 2025 earlier this week, features David Corenswet as Clark Kent or Superman.
The almost five-minute long clip gives a glimpse of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. The movie is set to release on July 11 this year. James Gunn was earlier associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and directed The Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Superman sneak peek
The clip starts with Superman crashing into an icy landscape. Injured and alone, he blows a sharp whistle, calling Krypto. The dog appears at superspeed and seems to be in a particularly playful mood. He jumps on and around Superman, seemingly worsening his injuries. Finally, the dog drags Superman by his cape and takes him to the Fortress of Solitude.
The video also shows robots helping Superman heal by turning him towards the sun. “Check out this Sneak Peek of #Superman, flying into theaters July 11,” James Gunn captioned the post.

Reactions to Superman sneak-peek
Many social media users were appreciative of the footage, particularly how Krypto was shown. “I love Krypto so much in this scene,” an account wrote.
Another wrote, “I’m digging the feeling I’m getting from this Superman. He doesn’t feel like a walking plot armor deus ex machina. Loving how when he’s healing, it kind of hurts in the process.”
“Anyone who owns a dog understands how accurate this interaction is,” a user remarked.
Some fans were left disappointed. “No Henry Cavill, no Superman,” a person commented.
“Please! Let this be that last reboot. DC starts off on a good one and then leaves you hanging. Over. And over,” an account commented, referencing the fate of Zack Snyder’s DC reboot.
