Investing.com — Crude oil prices weakened Friday, but still remained on course for a fifth straight week of gains on growing optimism for global economic growth and tightening supplies.

Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty ended 13.85 points down at 19646.05, while the BSE Sensex closed 106.62 points down at 66160.2. On the other hand, Jagsonpal Pharm, Intellect Design, Foseco India, Sundaram Finance and Fino Payments Bank stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.

New Delhi: Heavy showers in the southern states over the past few days have helped the region record 9% above relevant long-period average (LPA) rainfall, reversing an 8% deficit seen a week ago. According to the India Meteorological Department, Telangana received 212% above rainfall in the week ended Wednesday, while Andhra Pradesh and Yanam saw 144% above normal rain. Ajanta Pharma surged almost 9 per cent to hit their fresh 52-week high of ₹1,682.05 in morning trade on BSE on Friday (July 28), a day after the company released its June quarter scorecard.
