markets UPS wellness Trade Schools rights M&M a buying opportunity; stay away from Raymond: Chakri Lokapriya
Chakri Lokapriya, Managing Partner, RSB LLP, says that it’s time to be cautious as at the Nifty level, the earnings continue to be weak at the index level simply because the main constituents, whether it is IT or pharma or metals are not going to contribute to the earnings growth. On the other hand, the broader market earnings growth at the index level is likely to be far stronger While Wednesday’s decline was led by a slew of discounts from Motown, given the weekly expiry, the Budget coming up ahead and then, of course, data points like US CPI as well at the global front, do you think it makes sense to go a little light into these events? Chakri Lokapriya: You are right in terms of the market has run up and gone into Budget there is a lot of expectation in those few sectors like defence, railways, infra, and agriculture also to an extent. While at the Nifty level, the earnings continue to be weak at the index level simply because the main constituents, whether it is IT or pharma or metals are not going to contribute to the earnings growth. On the other hand, the broader market earnings growth at the index level is likely to be far stronger. But those stocks have run up, so I think caution would be helpful at this juncture.

Remark Hallmark wellness President Celebrity rights All is not well with democracy, all parties need to introspect: Vice President Dhankhar
introspection by all political parties. Addressing a joint session of both houses of the Maharashtra legislature to mark centenary celebrations of the state legislative council, Dhankar also said that democracy thrives on debate and dialogue, but dialogue among political parties was missing at present. «Democratic polity is witnessing a new low and it calls for introspection by all political parties,» the vice president said. «All is not well in parliamentary democracy. We are suffering sacrilege of disruption. Dialogue between political parties is missing,» he added. Slogan shouting and marching into the well of House was a painful situation for any presiding officer, said Dhankhar, chairman of the Rajya Sabha, adding that the chairman and speaker are made convenient punching bags by both sides. Decorum and discipline are the «heart of democracy» and the presiding officer should be respected, he added. «We are also not accommodative to the other point of view,» Dhankhar said, adding that parties often take confrontationist and adversarial approach instead of a cordial one. Ethics and morality have been the hallmarks of public life in India, he noted. While the state legislatures and Parliament are the «North Pole of democracy», legislators and MPs are its «lighthouses,» the vice president further said.

markets UPS SUN Research wellness Schools These two stocks can act as Rahul Dravid of your portfolio: Gautam Shah
«Even if the markets go through a bit of a correction, pharma and FMCG will stand out. So, almost 14% to 15% of your portfolio at this point of time should be in pharma,» says Gautam Shah, Goldilocks Premium Research. What would you like to get into in pharma? What are you riding there? Gautam Shah: Well, pharma has been a brilliant story for the last one year. For the last four months, it has actually got into a consolidation patch. Now it saw a breakout last week and we like stocks like Dr Reddy's which could be setting up for possibly a Rs 1,000 rally from here. Sun Pharma has been a structural story for a couple of years now. Cipla has been doing well. Stocks like Divi’s Lab and Laurus Lab have completed their underperformance, so they are also likely to move up. So, this entire pack has a lot more upside and we have seen what Wockhardt Pharma and Zydus Life have done in the recent past. And these are in some sense low beta or negative beta. So, even if the markets go through a bit of a correction, pharma and FMCG will stand out. So, almost 14% to 15% of your portfolio at this point of time should be in pharma.

This is in sharp contrast to the last two years, when fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies such as ITC, Dabur, Marico, Britannia, Parle Products, Emami and Hindustan Unilever had been focused mainly on premiumisation with demand turning sluggish in villages as the rise in prices of daily essentials, vegetables and fuel had forced consumers to cut down on spending. In the last two years, more than 60% of launches by large FMCG companies have been in the premium segment. The companies are also investing in “consumer activation” efforts to increase engagement with rural buyers, the executives said. Apart from the expectations of an above-normal monsoon that could bolster farm incomes, companies are expecting policy measures in the July 23 budget to strengthen the revival of demand in rural India.

Remark wellness Experts performer track information rights Mutual fund returns: Can recent Sebi mandate of disclosing risk-adjusted return help you identify the right mutual fund?
The information ratio essentially measures how much excess return a fund generates relative to the excess risk it takes, compared to its benchmark. It’s calculated by dividing the active return (fund’s return, minus its benchmark index) by the tracking error (standard deviation of active return). A higher ratio indicates better risk-adjusted performance, reflecting how well a fund performs relative to its benchmark while considering volatility. Why is Sebi pushing for this disclosure now? Recent surges in investments in certain fund categories and schemes have raised concerns. Investors flock to funds with stellar recent returns, sometimes overlooking the associated high risks. Sebi aims to ensure investors consider not just performance, but also the risks involved. Risk-adjusted returns offer a more comprehensive view of fund performance, according to Sebi.
