Madhabi Buch drawing salary post retirement from ICICI Bank, the private lender on Monday issued clarification by saying no salary or ESOPs were given to the SEBI chief. “ICICI Bank or its group companies have not paid any salary or granted any ESOPs to Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch after her retirement, other than her retiral benefits. It may be noted that she had opted for superannuation with effect from October 31, 2013," said ICICI bank in the statement. «All the payments made to Ms. Buch post her retirement had accrued to her during her employment phase with the ICICI Group. These payments comprise ESOPs and retiral benefits,» added the bank in the statement.

Congress party, ICICI Bank on Monday clarified that Sebi chief Madhabi Puri Buch did not receive any salary or hasn't been granted ESOPs after she retired from the bank. Earlier on Monday, Congress raised the issue of conflict of interest with regards to Buch, alleging that she continued to draw a salary from ICICI Bank while she was a member of Sebi.

coal production rose by 6.48 per cent to 384.08 million tonne (MT) in the first five months of the ongoing fiscal. The production was 360.71 MT in April-August FY24. The figures for the period under review are provisional. The production of CIL, which accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal output, rose to 290.39 MT during April-August FY25, marking a growth of 3.17 per cent year-on-year, the coal ministry said in a statement.

Cabinet led by PM Narendra Modi on Monday announced the launch of Digital Agriculture Mission with an outlay of Rs 2,817 crore, in an attempt to improve farmers' lives through technology. The government has given its nod to a total of seven agriculture projects worth Rs 13,966. «Today, 7 major decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting for improving the lives of farmers and increasing their income,» Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in a media briefing. A major component of this mission is the creation of an Agri Stack, which includes a Farmers Registry, Village Land Maps Registry, and Crop Sown Registry.

Stinger missiles to boost its defence capabilities amid growing concerns about China's military activities. The Army and Navy each ordered 250 Stinger missiles in 2019 and 2015, respectively. However, Taiwanese forces urgently require more effective countermeasures and deterrence, prompting the Army to order 1,985 more Stinger missiles from the US for approximately NT$55.54 billion,Taiwan News reported, citing Liberty Times.
