Cabinet approves seven decisions with an outlay of Rs 13,966 crore, focuses on farm-related activities
Cabinet on Monday gave nod to seven decisions focused on boosting farm-related activities in India, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced, while addressing a press conference.
While announcing the key decisions, Vaishnaw said, «Today, Seven major decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting for improving the lives of farmers and increasing their income...The first is Digital Agriculture Mission. This is being developed on lines of the structure of Digital Public Infrastructure for agriculture. A few good pilot projects have been taken up and we have achieved success. Here are the major decisions taken by Prime Minister Modi-led Cabinet:
- It approved Digital Agriculture Mission with an outlay of Rs 2,817 crore.
- The Cabinet approved Rs 3,979-crore scheme for crop science for food, nutrition.
- It allocated Rs 860 crore for development of horticulture; Rs 1,202 crore for Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
- Govt also cleared Rs 1,702-crore scheme for sustainable livestock health, production.
- It approved Rs 2,291-crore programme for strengthening agri education, management.
