WhatsApp wellness students performer Schools Board exams twice a year from 2025: MoE asks CBSE to work out logistics, no plan for semesters
Ministry of Education has asked the CBSE to work out logistics for conducting board exams twice a year from the 2025-26 academic session, according to sources. The plan for introduction of a semester system has been ruled out, they said. The ministry and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold consultations with school principals next month for conducting board exams twice a year, the sources said. The CBSE is currently in the process of working out the modalities of how will the academic calendar be structured to accommodate another set of board exams without impacting the undergraduate admission schedule, they said.

RBI) on Friday proposed that lending service providers (LSPs), acting as agents of banks, should give information on all the loan offers available with them to borrowers so that they can make an informed decision. Many of the LSPs offer aggregation services for loan products. LSP is an agent of a regulated entity (RE) who carries out one or more of lender's functions or part thereof in customer acquisition, underwriting support, pricing support, servicing, monitoring, recovery of specific loan or loan portfolio on behalf of REs in conformity with extant outsourcing guidelines. In December last year, the RBI announced to issue draft framework saying connected lending or lending to persons who are in a position to control or influence the decision of a lender can be of concern, if the lender does not maintain an arm's length relationship with such borrowers.

UPS MET WhatsApp reports Maruti Suzuki reports 47.8% surge in Q4 net profit driven by strong sales & product mix
Maruti Suzuki Friday met street estimates to report a 47.8% increase in net profit at Rs 3,877.8 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024 driven by strong sales and better product mix. Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher had expected the company to post a 48% in net profit at Rs 3,884 crore in the quarter under review. Revenues were expected to grow 21.2% to Rs 38,838.2 crore. Net sales of the company rose 19% to Rs 36,697.5 crore in the three months to March 2024. Total expenses went up by 16.3% to Rs 34,355.1 crore in the same period.

WhatsApp Courts Investigations Arms, ammunition seized by CBI during search operation in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali
CBI seized arms and ammunition, including foreign-made pistols, during its searches at multiple locations in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali on Friday in connection with an attack on an Enforcement Directorate team by a mob allegedly instigated by local TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh, officials said. The team was attacked in Sandeshkhali — a riverine delta bordering the Sundarbans — on January 5 when it had gone to raid the premises of Sheikh in connection with an alleged ration scam. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during its probe got inputs of a large cache of arms hidden in Sandeshkhali. On Friday morning, a CBI team started a search operation during which the arms, including foreign-made pistols, were seized, the officials said. On the orders of the Calcutta High Court, the central agency had registered three FIRs related to the incidents on January 5.

Mphasis reported a 2.9% dip in net profit at Rs 393.22 crore as against Rs 405.31 crore in the year ago quarter. On a sequential basis, profit increased by 5.2% from Rs 373.6 crore in the previous quarter ending December 2023. Revenue from operations during the quarter declined 1.5% to Rs 3,412 crore as compared to Rs 3,361 crore in the year ago quarter. Sequentially, the revenues fell 2.2% from Rs 3,337.9 crore in December quarter.

Supreme Court on Friday told the Delhi government that it would consider listing its plea challenging the central government's law establishing pre-eminence of the lieutenant governor over the elected dispensation in controlling services in the national capital. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was urged by senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the AAP government, that the whole administration has come to a standstill and the matter needed to be heard. The CJI said presently a nine-judge bench matter is going on and he will consider the submission. Presently, the nine-judge bench headed by the CJI is hearing petitions raising a vexed legal question whether private properties can be considered «material resources of the community» under Article 39(b) of the Constitution, which is a part of the Directive Principles of State Policy.
