Jubilant Pharma on Wednesday said the US health regulator has decided that the inspection classification of its subsidiary's Roorkee-based plant is voluntary action indicated (VAI). Jubilant Pharmova, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has received a communication from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) that the facility has been classified as VAI pursuant to inspection from January 25 to February 2, 2024, it said in a regulatory filing. As per the USFDA, a VAI inspection classification indicates that although investigators found and documented objectionable conditions during the inspection, FDA will not take or recommend regulatory or enforcement action because the objectionable conditions do not meet the threshold for action at this time. «Based on this inspection and the USFDA VAI classification, the facility is considered to be in acceptable state of compliance with regard to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP),» it added.

Hajj and Umrah has announced a significant update regarding the expiry of Umrah visas for pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As per the recent declaration, Dhul Qadah 15 (corresponding to May 23) will mark the final day for the expiration of Umrah visas, a change from the previous expiry date of Dhul Qadah 29 (corresponding to June 6). This adjustment aims to facilitate the smooth influx of pilgrims to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah for the annual Hajj pilgrimage. The ministry has also clarified that the validity period of the three-month Umrah visa will start from the date of its issuance, rather than from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia, as previously practiced. This clarification comes in response to inquiries received through the ministry's X platform.

Supreme Court will hear on May 7 a plea filed by the Andhra Pradesh government challenging a high court order granting regular bail to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development corporation scam case. The petition came up for hearing on Tuesday before a bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal which noted the counsel for the state has said they have filed an interlocutory application (IA) in the matter. Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday announced that it has received a ₹2.5 crore tax demand from the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), Chandigarh. Tarc Ltd, has reported Rs 1,612 crore pre-sales in FY 23-24, a 200% growth from previous year as demand for luxury real estate state continued. The company also achieved its highest annual collection to date, reaching Rs 415 crore. The fourth quarter of FY2023-24 witnessed exceptional sales, with TARC Limited recording sales amounting to Rs 1,281 crore. This staggering growth of over 600% on a year-on-year basis can be attributed largely to the success of the recently launched project, TARC Kailasa, located in New Delhi.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made four fresh arrests in connection with the alleged illegal land grab-linked money laundering case against former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren and others, official sources said on Wednesday. Those taken into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) have been identified as Antu Tirkey, Priya Ranjan Sahay, Bipin Singh and Irshad, they said. The ED had on Tuesday conducted searches at the premises of Tirkey and some others here and the four were arrested following their questioning. Tirkey is allegedly linked to Soren while Singh is a real estate businessman. Sahay «forged» some land-related documents along with others, according to the charge sheet filed in the case.

Turkiye announced on Tuesday that Turkish authorities have initiated a requirement for Indian and Nepalese passport holders traveling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela, transiting via Istanbul Airport, to obtain an 'Electronic Airport Transit Visa' (e-ATV). As per the embassy's statement shared on X by the Turkish Embassy in India, Indian and Nepalese passport holders subject to this requirement can obtain the e-ATV through the website «evisa.gov.tr» starting from April 15. Importantly, this service is provided free of charge, adhering to the current practice.
