Delhi High Court is scheduled to deliver on Tuesday its verdict on a plea by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in judicial custody in a money laundering case linked with the alleged excise scam, challenging his arrest. As per the cause list uploaded on the high court's website, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will pronounce the order at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Besides his arrest, Kejriwal has also challenged his subsequent remand in the Enforcement Directorate's custody. He was later remanded in judicial custody and is currently lodged in Tihar jail. Election Commission has suspended three Tripura government employees, including a security personnel, for participating in political events and election campaigns, violating the model code of conduct (MCC). Mumbai will face double property tax if they fail to display signboards in Marathi or Devanagari script. This was announced by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today. The BMC further stated that it will revoke the licenses of illuminated boards lacking Marathi or Devanagari lettering, with license renewal costs ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh. This enforcement aligns with the Supreme Court's directive and the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Rules. The BMC's decision was approved during a review meeting chaired by BMC commissioner-cum-administrator Bhushan Gagrani in view of the compliance deadline set by the Supreme Court earlier.

New Delhi: The country's imports of personal computers from China dipped 3 per cent to USD 917 million during November-February 2024, according to commerce ministry data. The inbound shipments stood at USD 950.22 million from the neighbouring country during November-February 2023. Similarly, imports contracted about 48 per cent to USD 917 million from China during November 2023-February 2024 as against USD 1.75 billion during July-October 2023, the data showed. Imports of personal computers into India also declined 55 per cent year-on-year to USD 1.06 billion from the world during November-February 2024.
